User ID: 79662918 United States 02/02/2021 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: BRIEF Both snow and leaves go away all by themselves if given time...I think it's absurd to shovel snow and rake leaves unless you do it for the exercise...like dancing, it's dumb unless you enjoy it... I guess if you don't need to leave your house or make it safe for others to come to your house, you could leave the snow..which can soak up rain, and then freeze into ice. I guess if one is a pathetic shut-in, it would be OK I just got back from the grocery store with snow on the ground...wasn't even a thought or concern...Likewise when I went to visit my granddaughters yesterday...I shall not fret leaving tomorrow when I go see my grandson... What about when there is 2 feet, like at my house right now? You'd leave it and walk "on top of it"? What state do you live in and how much snow are you referring to? We haven't seen 2' of snow here in southern IN since 1996... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Both snow and leaves go away all by themselves if given time...I think it's absurd to shovel snow and rake leaves unless you do it for the exercise...like dancing, it's dumb unless you enjoy it... If you need your walkway or driveway open, you need to move the snow. Also, after a snowstorm, you often get some sunny days, which means warm in the day and cold at night. If the snow is melting and refreezing, it turns to ice. You want to get the snow off before that happens. I got a snowblower last year, it's sort of fun to use. I grind up leaves in the fall and mulch them into my lawn. Doesn't look quite as good as if I had Central America blow them back and forth in my lawn and pile them up somewhere, but it's just another lawn mowing with my riding mower, the plant matter is returned to the lawn, and I save money. If I didn't grind them they would totally cover the lawn fairly deep and that would kill the grass in the spring -- aside from being unsightly. Neighbors can't complain too much because the "green" folks in the next town actually recommended doing what I am doing rather than blowing leaves. Last Edited by oniongrass on 02/02/2021 10:31 AM . I agree about the leaves. If you look at that neighborhood where the shooting took place, they are the typical Pennsylvania hills. I looked on Google maps, and some of those driveways are steep. I could never understand how they make it up and down their driveways. PA is not known to salt their roads or fix their potholes. Who knows...the shooter could have snapped after being quarantined, losing his job or business. Their Democrat governor is an idiot. Dumbest goddamn statement you've ever made on here. Your position can only be supported by those who do not have enough snowfall for it to become a problem or liability. If you live far enough north, then your whole civilization will abruptly shut down if you don't do maintenance on excessive snow. Most financial, survival, and educationally activity would stop in its tracks until spring time came to melt all your problems away.
