Yeah sure... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17549267 Wanna know who REALLY "rules" this country? CORPORATIONS and the MEDIA. Who but a lame duck country CENSORS their president, various representatives of that government and now that government's DEFENSE Department? A country in SERIOUS trouble. DO y'all think these are the actions of a FREE country? A REPUBLIC? and you folks that act like you're happy that an entire group of Americans are being censored and defamed? COMMUNISTS, every single last one of you....to think those kinds of behaviors are GOOD in a free country. I doubt the Romanian who posts on here is old enough to remember, but maybe HE/SHE should be regaling us with the tales of the rule of Nicolae Ceausescu. Same for the Russian who posts in GLP....you folks on here who actually fought in Vietnam, were alive during Pol Pot's "rule" and the "killing fields" You folks that think this is all just a show should do some reading about the beginnings of those regimes: Germany in the 30's, Mao, Ceausescu, Cambodia in the 70's NOBODY should be banning ANYONE in a free society. Another indicator that the military is in CHARGE! :TRUSTTHEPLANE: :RUNSILENT: Earlest use of this i can note is 1601 For example, this phrase makes an appearance in the play The Dumb Knight, written by Lewis Machin and Gervase Markham, around 1601: “Coloquintida. Fast lock'd in her bed, with a close ward to devour thee my brave paraquito; but hush, no words, there is a calm before the tempest.” |

Yeah sure... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17549267 Why would they want to? The people NEED to see just how bad this! People MUST see! What needs to happen is the US government, all governments need to stop using public funds to prop up social media. Whether or not anyone realizes it, that's exactly what's being done. Tens of millions of people around the world visit the websites of private companies, use their apps and rely on their services to provide what? Information that should publicly available through government run websites and communications that should be made publickly available on those government sites, not through some private organiztion like Twitter. Posting to these sites by public officals and agencies in turn puts Christ knows how much money into the pockets of these companies when the public visits them or uses their apps. Who profits? The owners and the investors. It's as if these businesses are publicly funded through the back door. Public money pays the polticians and the various government agencies who in turn pay people to set up and maintain accounts on these social media sites and those sites in turn make money off of advertising and through increased investment revenue. It's insanity and it should have been stopped years ago. If the public is to lazy or disinterested to vist the appropriate website of whatever government agency or official than why the hell should Twitter or anyone else be profiting off of that? They shouldn't and we shouldn't be allowing tax money to be used for it. The defense department should set an example and be the first to permanently stop using social media. |
