Quoting: Deplorable Zenobia This is truly a sad but truthful commentary on where we find sports today. I'm old enough to remember when athletes did what they did for the sheer LOVE of their sport and then everything changed when $$$ and all the shit that comes w/ it infiltrates sports on all levels. Yea ipot! Thank you for that Last Edited by zzcat on 02/11/2021 08:40 AM zzcat who says Schrodinger's cat is even in the box |

It is beyond ridiculous, I don't see how anyone can patronize this garbage. Gen. John B Gordon and Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest were the finest citizen-soldiers birthed in America. |

Quoting: FlashBuzzkill I think the major turning point for me regarding the polluting of sports was watching real time the Munich Olympic games where political whacking just ruined it. Lot of folks are younger than that time period but I vividly recall sitting there watching the tv and knowing that the Olympics, hell all sports, would always be used as a venue for such BS. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. That is what I call 'sustained incoherence.' ...David Bohm “How, O Zenobia, hast thou dared to insult Roman emperors?” ...Aurelian, 44th Emperor of the Roman Empire |

True underdog story (RIP Coach V). And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking.
