Lyme disease or one of the several related infections. Had it twice. Sux even though I caught it early and got put on Doxy for 30 days. The damage done does not come back, now 20 years later with a hip replacement.

Its such a touchy issue! I did a test raw food(vegan) diet for 30 days followed by a 10 day juice fast. I felt like superman and I only need 4 or so hours of sleep at night. I kept waking up 2 am wide awake and ready to go. My room mates got made one morning I was up vacuuming...LOL. My mountain bike friends coulnd't figure out how I all of a sudden was blowing them all away. Only problem was I was loosing weight fast and looked to skinny.

Stop eating plants and seeds. Your gut will thank you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79087632

I think our guts can handle it if its not broken. Also, lectins have to be in the presence of SUGAR to cause issues
 Quoting: Max Powers

Enjoy your poisoning then. Don't complain.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79087632

Im guessing your talking about the lectins issue? I use to eat mass amounts of veggies and soaked seeds for many years and felt friggin awesome. I'm not saying you are wrong, I like to keep open to all info, Im just saying maybe its something that can be worked out.

I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet.
 Quoting: Max Powers

i'm the same poster that talked about 'mojo'.

I have had serious gut problems for many years after having severe food poisoning in a foreign country.

there are many veggies that are good for the gut and good for the body in general. My gut is extremely sensitive and when it has problems, I have problems. Below are what I've found to be true.

Celery, raw, washed, is excellent.
cooked broccoli, excellent.
cooked carrots, excellent.
cooked fresh green beans, very good. Canned, not so good.
cooked cauliflower, very good, but not large quantities.

Cooked spinach. NOT good. Spinach in anything, not good. The spinach raviolis about kill me.

other foods:

-Anything deep fried - kill me
-Spicy Mexican food - bad news especially jalapenos.
-mexican chips or potato chips in general - not good
-all junk food like donuts or crap at convenience store- bad
-Hamburgers in the middle of the day while working hard are ok, but never for dinner. Fries are always bad. -Onion rings very bad.
-acidic foods like orange juice, onions, or tomatoes. not good
-if my gut is having alot of problems, I can't eat any type of breads.
-noodles with butter/salt are good, but not top ramon. Salt assists the digestion process of all foods, especially meats.
-rice is very good
-pork , Bad
-cashews or peanuts, terrible for me
-sunflower seeds, bad for me

that's all i can remember at the moment.

I read above again and found that you have gut problems. Go without food for an entire day, just water, ONLY water and reset yourself. You'll thank me later.

don't.eat.late.ever. and you'll revitalize your body.

We have quit all wheat and gluten. It’s been very hard because that’s basically half of the food at the grocery store and 80% of food in restaurants.

Feeling much better though. My partner’s migraines, joint pain and fatigue are gone just like Magic.

Re: Tired of feeling like $hit and tired all the time? Me too!
i forgot one of my favorites,

baked potato with butter and alot of salt. excellent for my gut. ..but..not with meat, it apparently digests very differently than meat and the stomach chemistry doesn't work.

also,

the high dollar steaks from Costco but nothing with it, very good. but again, not late at night.

I personally am against vegan. Humans are not meant to be vegan. Elements such as cobalt are only found in grasses that can't be eaten by humans. A little bit of meat protein is good. Cobalt is necessary for the metabolic process. Long term vegans have to take supplements to make sure that they get everything, but the body wasn't designed for that type of diet.

it may be very good to go total vegan as a cleanse for a few weeks or maybe a month? but to live it day in day out is not good. (in my opinion)

wheat in and of itself isn't 'poison'. My progenitors ate beef and bread and lived healthy past a 100yrs old. The modified wheat today may be causing a problem and the gluten is harder to digest.

I've been eating home prepped bread using homemade sourdough type yeast instead of the store bought yeast and it makes a difference by breaking down the gluten a little more.

it's a digestion problem, not a wheat problem.

if a person only eats when they are very hungry, the stomach digests 10X better. I have found this out due to my own problems... But...who will do that? LOL....we are too lazy to self discipline and too addicted to eating.

Re: Tired of feeling like $hit and tired all the time? Me too!
I've decided to do something about my health cause I started a new job that physically demanding.

I use to eat really healthy. I moved 8 years ago and started a stressful job as a mechanic. I lived on sugar those 8 years. I got away with it to an extent because I was able to burn of the calories.

Well, I lost my job last March and started to stress eat. I put on weight. Then my legs started to hurt like crazy at night. Nothing seemed to help. Then I figured something out. IT WAS THE SUGAR. Diabetics always have leg problems.

Think about this; You need vitamin C so your body can make collegian. You need collegian to REBUILD your blood vessels. Problem with sugar is it uses the same port in your cells as vitamin C. Your body takes in sugar BEFORE it will take in vitamin C.

So I ditched the sugar and started making some more liposomal vitamin C. 1 week later and my legs don't hurt any more at night.

Now I'm taking it to the next level, no more junk food for me. I'm done with feeling tired and crappy all the time. Fuk off food addiction, I'm taking my life back.

Who's going to join me?

European pastas and such, have little to no issues surrounding the gut. It is glyphosate utilized to do a timed harvest of wheat in the US and Canada that is causing gut issues. Notice the timing of the use of glyphosate and harvests, and the onset of 'gluten intolerance'. Try it. Make two simple pasta dishes, 2 days in a row. One using North American pasta like Prego or something, the other using a decent European pasta (often on sale for some reason here). You can notice the bloat from the first. The other is just fine.

And rather tasty....a better breaksfast beverage then coffee that is for sure. As a note...if you have a local butcher (ie not grocery chain butcher) I have found that both of ours (I live on what amounts to an island) are more then willing to bring in bones as long as you are there to purchase them so they don't take up too much space, for too long.

I just hitting the 24 hour point of no food. Just sipping on some water. Gut is still feeling bubbly rumbly. I drank a large glass of water last night while soaking in a very hot bath. I was trying to sweat out some of the kratom I can still feel in my head. I ended up with some epic acid reflux from the water. For now, I will just sip on a bit of water. Blood pressure is definitely down and I'm feeling colder then normal.

I'm trying to figure out how to end the water fast. I think first I will start with some anti-inflammitory drings with zero sugar. I will probably do an elderberry/ginger first, and then maybe a turmeric based drink.

I just took a meditation/nap listening to my very favorite album. The best CD I have ever listend too...I kept seeing my favorite foods...LOL....
