The joke is "do both of us have to come out alive?". She botched it. Because she's as stupid as she is wicked.

Listening to that audience of trained seals howling with glee at a dumb, murderous, utterly botched joke is pretty depressing. What a mess we've left our children.

I like to imagine Trump has declared martial law, but only the military knows it.

Leaders of the opposition are constrained to put on the drama of a peaceful transition, so Trump lulls China to think America is peaceful and cooperative, while the military prepares an audacious attack on China.

It is also a plus that enemies at home are emboldened to speak up and mark themselves for arrest in the same hour China is dealt a death blow.
