Poor babies they used to cry at night, maybe cuz they were cold that’s why I took them to my bed. I showered them with organic shampoo, oh my, their feathers used to smell so nice. your poor hubby having to sleep with turkey feathers Nah... we sleep in separate rooms. I love having my own room. The secret maybe, to a long marriage |

User ID: 79516540 United States 02/22/2021 10:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They are so so cute! Yeah I was grumbling back then about how much of a pain in the ass it was dealing with them. They require a lot more attention than chicks the first few days after hatching. Have to make sure each one learns how to eat and drink. Wasn't long before I missed the experience LoL looking forward to doing it again this spring. Last year was the first time for me. It is so sweet on the 21st day to walk into the henhouse and hear their little Peeps. Silkie chicks are so tiny with their little topknots. Listening to mommy talk to them. I have some sweet vids on my laptop. I might get them out sometime. I would catch them spiders and try to give them to them but mommy would always take it and then give it to them! Lol They would get a little caterpillar or something and play weeble wobblle tug of war! Omgeeee! I love them. Making sammiches great again! USA! USA! USA! |

I’m so glad they were able to go back to the wild. Angelic cuteness overload! I wanted to kill my husband... he separated them from the mother. I felt so responsible for them. I used to lay down on the grass and look for worms for them. It was so cute to see the babies on top of me, walking on my back, they saw me as their mother, I was their mother. Eres increiblemente amable y amorosa. Wasn't long before I missed the experience LoL looking forward to doing it again this spring. Last year was the first time for me. I raised four wild baby turkeys two years ago... their diet was hard boiled eggs... they grew up and left. Well done! They can fend for themselves pretty quickly once they're able to fly up and roost in trees. Usually around 2-3 weeks old. I found a really young baby robin last spring... had the ideal setup for it to survive... he became quick friends with all the poults. Fed it with ground up freeze-dried mealworms mixed with a little water on fingertip. Worked well! Once it was able to fly well I had my 6yr old niece let him go when she & family visited. Sweet!!!!!! My mom took in orphaned animals for the local wildlife ranger.. We raised owls and hawks, flying squirrels, squirrels, skunks, possums. It was like the Clampetts!!! We put mice and birds on fishing poles and flipped them around to teach them to pounce. Raise them and set them free. It was hard sometimes. We always wanted to play with them but some of them needed to keep their wary nature so we couldn’t. It was a great experience. ;) Making sammiches great again! USA! USA! USA! |
