Hey I use to close all my mailboxes, but there was a time when I was upset because my mail carrier kept leaving mine open. Seemed like she would always leave it opened when it rained. I was upset until I watched her close it one rainy day on my security camera, and then watched it pop back open minutes later. The wind was finding its way into a hole in the back of my box. Tightened up the edges of the door and problem solved.
Lesson? Mail carriers are people too. Jerks! LOL
