The Lesson of Legion and why does it matter today?
This Youtube video is based on Luke 8:27 (KJV), when Jesus encounters a man possessed by evil and unclean spirits.

Jesus asked it "what is thy name?" and they answered, "Legion, for they were many."

Why, then is this significant in today's time?

Understand first that this is a spirit of violence, for it is written in another passage of the same account in Matthew 8:28

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

By means of this violence from which this spirit commits it brings strife and unrest, and its means is used to establish and justify their existence.

How is that?

When Jesus first approached the possessed man, they were extremely fearful of him, for Jesus has the power to send them into the Abyss.

Luke 8:31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

Their means to exist is not go into the deep, where there is only perdition. This is why their means are violent, and that is to fight.

Re: The Lesson of Legion and why does it matter today?
But Jesus did not send them into the Abyss; they asked instead to be sent into a nearby heard of pigs.

This is then the second important point, the first being they are violent and they fight by means to justify their existence.

And the second important point is that Jesus did not send them into the Abyss, but into a heard of pigs, are thus are still among people, here in the realm today.

And if I may raise a third important point, they are many, by their name.

So, how does this apply in today's time?

Re: The Lesson of Legion and why does it matter today?
Remember, and I speak of this as a spirit, with its power to possess and influence man:

1. They are violent, and they fight to exist.

2. They are still here because Jesus did not send them into the Abyss.

3. They are many.
