They did this last year to our water bill.

We went from 90 to 400+ a month for water in the summer.

There were petitions to recall the mayor but the county clerk rejected the petitions cause they weren’t “stapled right”.

My normal water bill is $60...includes sewer and trash pick-up
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77950187

This is about gas and electricity. Needing to have the faucets dripping may produce a bigger water bill but I don't think water costs, per gallon, are skyrocketing.

BTW, what would happen if those on city water had a well put in?

Without coal, natural gas, propane and oil, prices will go up. With 20 million illegal aliens coming in you’ll be paying for them also. Get ready and remember, Trump had a plan, energy independence, boarder walls to control costs and reduce the load on crime and thief.

You can't win in Florida. Winter electric bills around 120. Summer around twice that. Admittedly, I like the air under 70. Have well and septic and that does save me.

Those saying Cali is better idk where you're living but from my experience, almost every inch of the state is garbage to live in except literally directly on the coast and even then I had to deal with BS CalTrans construction every single day to maintain the garbage road. In addition to mudslides, wildfires, shitty people, shitty government, and PG&E that willingly shuts off your power in the heat of the summer. Seems unrelated but every place has it's pros and cons. I moved to the other side of the country and am now surrounded by snow with 0 degree nights and am being told by every single person that this is a mild winter. I have a woodstove, furnace, and heat pump, my own well, and am on grid for electric but it's so rural and they're used to the snow so it's fixed within 1-3 hours. I lived off grid in Cali too so being without any power for a few hours is not the worst conditions I've ever been in. Believe me, I love the warm weather but so do most other people and in my experience, I have to live where others don't want to in order to be free and independent. Warmth just means throwing more wood on the fire and taking a moment to sit and relax.

It sucks to see prices rising and I feel for those who are truly struggling. To be unable to afford or be able to provide our basic needs is stressful and can cause even more anxiety in an already intense social climate. Green energy is certainly not the way to go either and I wish we could take a more pragmatic look at our resources and habits as humans. The size of our houses and the amount or resources it takes to power them in order to keep the modern human "comfortable" is far too large and is truly unsustainable no matter how we choose to fuel them. We must willingly change our behavior to make the most out of our resources and that's a choice the individual must make.

They make up for it by taxing commercial property at 3%...That's a bite out of profit for a big piece of property and they tax you on the contents also...They think business owners are rich or something...and I guess we are lol I absolutely loathe taxes!

Lived in Texas all my life, never saw MINUS 17 wind chill before. It’s supposed to get even worse. NOTHING is equipped or made to handle that around here. I’m on a slab, good insulation and barely keeping warm. I’m also one of the few around here with a fireplace but the foot & half snow we got recently in 2 storms followed by THIS is more than most folks are stocked up for. Idr it ever being this bad as far as consistent bad storms followed by another. Everyone is literally stuck at home now, snow on top of a thick layer of ice.

we hit the proverbial offerless market where any natgas that was available would be purchased at virtually any price, which is why midcontinent prices such as the Oneok OGT nat gas spot exploded from $3.46 one week ago, to $9 on Wednesday, $60.28 on Thursday and an insane $377.13 on Friday, up 32,000% in a few days

We are moving into a mini-ice age. Can't recall the many sources but I have read it many times. Global warming was a ruse to milk the public.

Yes, it is that bad.
