Will governments come to the rescue and bail out these Middle Men who oversold a product that they didn't have? How do we graduate into the Gold Standard? How will it play out? Not suddenly, but gradually? |

At what point does the comex lose relevance as a price discovery oracle? If the comex price is 18$ and no commercial amounts can be had from the comex. Is the comex still a physical futures commodity exchange or is it now a derivatives exchange? So many questions..... refraktor |

I would think that the Comex would hand over duties to the US Mint, Department of the Treasury? Because if we are in the Gold Standard then gold/silver isn't a commodity anymore, it's cash/money. That's really the only way to value the stuff based on actual bank vault possession. Under previous rules the US and other countries could take loans on stuff in the ground, unmined. That's just not realistic. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80019012 United States 02/14/2021 08:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The true magic will happen when industrial sourcing of silver is no offer. Look at the price of LP gas in Texas...they have to buy it at any price in order to keep the Co-gen power plants running. How much would a company like Apple pay, a 1.5 trillion dollar valued company for physical silver when they have to have it to make their phones etc? Tesla and others are in the same boat that is when the proverbial shit will hit the fan in a big way. You can't settle industrial commodities in cash and think there will be no blowback from that action. I would imagine the initial reaction will be for the physical price to skyrocket followed by massive turn ins and ads on tv for silver from your mom's coin supply and silverware. This will suck up that supply rapidly followed by attempts to recycle silver from any source available. That likely will not be enough or will be cost prohibitive until prices reach 5K per oz or more. |
