I HAD A BIZZARE TEOTWAWKI DREAM LAST NIGHT
I was with my family on a vacation at some lodge- the impression I had was Idaho. It seemed like it was fall- the alders were yellow, but it was warm and we were taking stuff into our cabin from the car, our oldest child had gone in ahead of us and we were gathering up the two youngest and suitcases when I heard people behind us going OOH! AAH! and as we turned- to the northwest- a way off it seemed, there were pillars of black smoke rising into the sky- they had to be tens of thousands of feet in height in a line, and then a really, really wide massive column of black smoke behind them and it literally rushed up- and at this point you could here this sound like the tide, big booming wave sounds- and it seemed like the smoke hit the upper atmosphere and began to spread out like a chesnut tree and you could see red in it and that's when people started to react, to run . The these pieces of flaming debris started to shower down and I grabbed my family and started to hustle them in towards the cabin. You could hear the stuff pelting the cars in the parking lot and people screaming and all I could think of was that this was it, this was the end and I wanted to find our oldest boy and get him with us, As we ran up the stairs the back deck was hit by a massive rock that just shattered it into splinters and it started to get dark and finally we found our boy and we all kind of held onto one another and I told my wife "It's the end of the world" and we looked out away from the pillars of smoke into the woods and even though I didn't want anything to happen to us, I felt strangly at peace.

Then I woke up.

Pretty intense.

mind ya, i know the foolishness in taking all written prophecies from any given book as straight up, but in a certain book, it said "pillars of smoke" before the big changeover(not the end of the world). i notice for a couple weeks now, peoples dreams have been powerful, so when i see a dream post i take it real seriously. my take on it, the dreamers are sacred, so you all have nothing to worry about. yah, it's coming down real soon.

Volcano?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 335906

Nor'west of Idaho there are some lovely volcanoes that might foot the bill.

Heck plenty of Volcanoes IN Idaho could fit the bill.

But to note the teller says "pillars" (plural) of smoke.

Now had the poster said East or Nor'east we could say it was Yellowstone. That super volcano would send up pillars (plural) of smoke as the caldera floor would crack and burst at many points prior to the whole floor going up in a blaze of glory.

But then the poster didn't say where in Idaho, they had the 'impression' they were in Idaho.

All in all it was just a dream. Dreams contain symbolism, not "hard facts" and rarely does a dream event really mean exactly that event.

The feelings invoked, the direction in which the person is shoved to action is the key, not the images themselves.

Mind the underpinning of family, and then the resignation or the acceptance of the unchangeable with peace and serenity.

The poster does not hint at abject terror at the event, a longing for the eldest child who has "gone on before us" most likely a reflection of a parent's frustration at a child who has become or is becoming and adult and leaving the nest.

The setting being "vacation" with the family suggests that the poster is well grounding with their priorities after all the "end of the world" is taking place while they are with their family.

Either the poster doesn't have that much time with the family and wishes that they could have more time - OR - family is high on the list and taking time for family is a comfort to the poster who even faced with the end of it all is at peace with those family members they are with.

Even if this is a "psychic" clairvoyant dream, the under pinnings of it is highly suggestive of down to earth family issues set against the background of a truly testing event. Meaning the focus is most likely around family, not some event Nor'west of Idaho.
