Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. I know it’s 3 people, but they shared the same exact situation so it would be a bit weird to just pick one.

Probably not possible to unravel that mess between your ears.

God could do it, but he doesn't work with proud, arrogant, smug assholes.

That could change though, as you may be in for a serious humbling.

Re: Who is favorite person in the Bible? and why?
Great thread op.

Of course, the only answer as a Christian is Jesus, for walking on this Earth as a sinless man, for dying on that cross at Calvary, for defeating death and sin, for rising again the third day, who saved me from my sin and rebellion, who stood me on my feet, accepted me into His kingdom, and clothed me in his righteousness. If he never did another thing for me it would be him by a distance. But he does. Daily. And I thank and praise him for everything that I have in my life. And I look forward to that day when I shall see him face to face. What a day that will be.

I also have a great love for Peter because, when I read what the Lord was able to do with a man who denied him, who fled, yet became a might nan of God, it gives me hope that he might use this frail flesh in his service.

I love Paul for his teaching, perseverance and ministry - what an example to any Christian.

And the story of Naboth the vineyard owner in 1st Kings resonates with me. There is so much within that 1 chapter, the foreshadows and types, and the story of a man who was faithful to God, right up to death.

So many possible answers!

Mine is Noah, he believed God would flood the earth and worked so hard to build the Ark by certain specs.
He and his wife had raised sons who choose women good enough to be in that Ark.

I'm going with Noah, gets tasked with building a large ark, gets the family to at least go along with his core beliefs, goes through the flood and mayhem, and afterwards enjoys some wine.

Re: Who is favorite person in the Bible? and why?
I always loved the story about that batshit crazy motherfucker who listened to voices in his head that told him to sacrifice his own son, but just as he was about to set his son on fire the voices said he should just mutilate his penis instead, and then people kept mutilating baby penises for thousands of years in his honor, and started three major religions to worship the voices in his head, which suckered in half the population on the planet, and millions got killed by all the crazies.

Jesus. In what has to be the least quoted verse. " my god,my God, why have you forsaken. The joke, here God is yelling at God because God didn't help God! Lol. The main character spills the beans. Sadly, while not deleted, its also just ignored. If discussed its tossed aside as the man part of Jesus speaking out. Lol...sure.

John the Baptist.

Jesus submitted to him and got baptized after John suggested he be baptized by Jesus! I cannot possibly imagine a higher honor to a human being.

The Son of God literally allowed a human to baptize Him. Let that sink in for a moment. I think this does not get enough mention in religion and it is incredibly significant.

this is hard question. it is like someone asking me which of my children i like the most.

they all had a part but if i had to make choice aside from Lord it would be Moses and David.

moses cause he had to deal with those back bitting jehuruns. david cause he loved the Lord so much and liked to party dance sing and give cheers to Him.

Re: Who is favorite person in the Bible? and why?
Elijah---Second Kings 2:11

"Suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and
separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in
a whirlwind."

He was a prophet and performed miracles...

The prophet Elijah performed seven known miracles.

ELIJAH
Miracle 1. Ravens feed Elijah
1 Kings 17:6. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the
morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank
from the brook.

Miracle 2. Elijah multiplies a widow’s food
1 Kings 17:14. For the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘The
jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not
fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the earth.’ ”

Miracle 3. Elijah raises a widow’s dead son
1 Kings 17:22. The LORD listened to the voice of Elijah; and
the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

Miracle 4. Elijah’s altar and sacrifice are consumed by fire
1 Kings 18:38. Then the LORD’s fire fell and consumed the
burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust; and it
licked up the water that was in the trench.

Miracle 5. Ahaziah’s soldiers are consumed by fire
2 Kings 1:10. Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, “If I
am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky and
consume you and your fifty!” Then fire came down from the
sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

Miracle 6. Elijah parts the Jordan river
2 Kings 2:8. Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up, and
struck the waters; and they were divided here and there, so
that they both went over on dry ground.

Miracle 7. Elijah is taken up into heaven
2 Kings 2:11. As they continued on and talked, behold, a
chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and
Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
