It’s important for banks, central banks and governments to ensure that precious metals prices remain subdued. This is so because precious metals still indirectly backstops the whole monetary system. If the price of gold and silver were to skyrocket, it would expose that the emperor has no clothes, i.e. that fiat currency is intrinsically worthless.

Central banks and governments have employed a two pronged approach, where on one hand, the money supply is increased via Quantitative Easing to prop up bank and vested interests while on the other hand, the paper price of gold and silver is suppressed.

If silver really inflated/shot up to $1k/oz, a $1 can of pop now will run ~$33.
Simple math.

Say $30/oz for silver, hyperinflation drives to $1k.
1,000 divided by the ~$30 spot = $33.33.

Granted there are other variables, but I think we would be having some "other" issues to worry about rather than inflation...

This isnt to knock crypto, I think the major cryptos will keep increasing, BUT , while crypto is literally a number on a screen, physical metal is a real asset that can be held....like ..in your hand.

There are thousands of cryptos and more being created every day. There is a limited amount of precious metal and thete arent any new ones to discover, not on Earth anyway.
