Distilling the liquid off then you will be left with the salt and oil then use ethanol the salt should drop to the bottom of the flask and decant the top liquid off .

Thank you so much for your help so far I really appreciate it. Yes you are correct Im not ready to produce The Oil of Gold just yet. I have taken this treasure though and got great results. At the moment I'm experimenting making an Ens Blue Lotus. Once I clearly understand the method I will move forward and make the finished article and progress will be made. I did this and now I have 2 potions. One is a thick amber oily substance and the decanted ethanol is a pale yellow/beige colour. Which one is the Ens? Cheers.

The oily substance is very oily and it has small crystals within in. The ethanol potion looks like a Blue Lotus Ens that I was once given so I guess that is the Ens? Thanks for any advice.

The oil with the crystal has the salt mixed in it but its still ens try a few drops of each one see which one has the most affect on the etheric body. You should be able to keep extracting the oil off. Be careful tasting the thick oil it might be hoy and fiery becaus of the potassium carbonate.

Actually I would keep adding ethanol to the oil and keep extracting the tenture off until it will extract no more color then combined all the extractions into one liquid then distill you will be left with the true Ens then. OP go look for John french's art of distillation that will help you out immensely you should be able to down load as a PDF file.

I think I understand the principle now. My 'salt' solution wasn't strong enough to cause a separation (after the ethanol was added) but after I evaporated the ethanol/Oil of Tartar water away and then 'washed' it with ethanol the result was great. I'm making another one at the moment will be interesting to see if I can get the separation this time.

I'm wondering whether it's possible to make an Ens with fungi? They say that the Ens method is good for extracting herbs and flowers, maybe it will work for fungi two. What would you suggest?

You can extract the essence out of just about any thing even fungi Im going to look up another book for you Its on my computer at home ill post the name of it you can download it to it deals with spragics and how to make them.

Also go look foe a chart with alchemy symbols on it some of the text you may come across will use symbols instead od words so if you understand the meaning of the symbols then the alchemy text is easier to understand.

I'm working on another Ens Blue Lotus as we speak. I've loosely filtered off the plant matter and then added ethanol to the Oil of Tartar mixture. This time there is a clear separation. I'm unsure what to do now though. How long should I leave this (pic below) before I draw off the ethanol? Once the ethanol is drawn off should I then evaporate it off, hopefully leaving a thick oily/salty solution to be 'washed' with more ethanol to produce the medicine?

Some say to freeze it and collect the frozen oil but I don't think the quantity that I've made is enough for that method.

Any more of your help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok Op nice work on the ens here is another pdf you can look for although a lot of it you will not understand there are some chapters in it that might be useful and its not a very big book Circulatum Minus of Urbigerus

You can leave it to extract as long as you like some like to let it digest for 40 days it's really up to you just follow your intuition and your dreams. Take note of your dreams and keep a note book handy to jot down your dreams sometimes you will receive the answer to a question in your dreams. And keep track of what your doing in the lab work as far as heat being used how long the extraction process takes how much matter is being used .

Taking notes of whats working and whats not working that will be your reference guild.

Just add water to metal, when the metal rusts, then you get golden Gold.

The second PDF was way above my head Alkem! I have a lot of work to do before that makes sense to me but thanks for sending it my way. I really enjoy reading The Art of Distilation though. It blows my mind when I think about how the methods to make all those things were discovered.

It's all been very exciting to be honest. I made a Primum Ens Melissae using a 24 hr extraction method. The result is below. What do you think of the quality of the Ens? I know it's difficult to assess it from a pic. I was so pleased when it came over green in colour as I was expecting it to be pale yellow like a diluted version of the oily/salty residue. Also it was absolutly clear when I bottled it but today it has tiny bits of white 'dust' like particles which settle on the bottom, do you know if that is normal?

I started to make a Rosehip Ens yesterday. I had some frozen Rosehips which I'd blended up to make a Spayric with and ended up with too much hence the freezing. I defrosted them put them in a jar and added the Oil of Tartar. Immediately they started 'fizzing' and a bit of foam appeared on the surface. When I came back today this had happened -

I stirred it for a bit and most of the air bubbles have now gone. Do you know what's going on here? It seems that the Rosehips must have been is some stage of fermentation but I don't know that for sure or if there is another reason for this reaction. I'm surprised that there's no loss of colour as the other Ens that I have made have been brownish/dark after 24 hrs but this one is different. The Oil of Tartar was the same strength that I would normally use, the ony difference was that I added 2 more spoons of the wet salt. I'm going to keep it going and see what happens. Do you think it can be saved?

In the premium ens that is some salt settling nothing to worry about. Thats a nice red you have with the rose ens you usually don't get that until you calanine the leftover plant matter residue to a white ash and extract the salts then recombind with the liquid so that is really interesting good job

Keep going with the red that should be a powerful one when finished.

Ah I see. I think I'll let the salt settle and pipe the clear Ens off.

I will check on my Rosehip today although I'm a bit confused as to what I'm looking for. Should I wait until the mixture breaks down to a dark amber colour? Or should I act before then? It will be an interesting learning experience.

I'm starting an Amanita Muscaria Ens today. I'll let you know how it goes.
