Rush Limbaugh was a political shock jock. He perfected that genre and took it mainstream. His success and popularity rocketed him to stardom, power and influence. It seems obvious to me that he pushed certain narratives and was not really a journalist in the classic sense--ferreting out the truth about what was going on behind the scenes. I didn't listen to him a lot because his voice got on my nerves. I don't really understand the hatred for him from the left. They have obviously forgotten that he is a shock jock at his core. If I am going to listen to someone like that it is going to be he who shall not be named.
