actually you got a point there and i was thinking the same, this way they dont have to tell the people what is comming ELE It's about finding people for off-world colonization. We're talking about millions of people.
They can screen us covertly for our skills and IQ, but this is the only way to sample our DNA globally (Covid "tests") AND profile our ability to tolerate isolation, stress, specific protocols (masks, desinfection) and more or less forced long-term co-habitation indoors.
