Re: Mars Perseverance Landing!
Absolute bullshit. They probably filmed the “landing” somewhere in northern Canada. The earth is flat, and Mars is a mere celestial luminary, not a rocky spheroid that can be landed on.
 Quoting: Hartz

Wrong.
mars2020
Last year when I was observing Mars I directly measured its distance using the parallax between an image I took with my telescope and an image I simultaneously took with a telescope in New Mexico over the internet.
[link to drive.google.com (secure)]
Given a parallax angle of 0.00164658 degrees, a 2391.060 km chord distance, an angular separation of 49.528 degrees between Mars and Florida as seen from New Mexico at the time of observation, we get the following distance using the law of sines:
(2391.060 km/sin(0.00164658 degrees))*sin(49.528 degrees) = 63,292,970 km = 0.423 AU
 Quoting: Astromut

How did you get the parallax calculation?
 Quoting: Hartz

The parallax was an observation, not a calculation. I measured it myself using a pair of telescopes on opposite sides of the country.

Not sure which is more entertaining. The content or the tards like the example above. Either way thanks for providing us both Astro.

All you need to do is research...and you will find that the earth is actually flat and that landing on the planets is impossible...
 Quoting: Hartz

Research what though? I used to say this stuff all the time and it wasn't until I really started to question myself that I realized watching youtube wasn't researching.

I don't want to trigger you, and maybe you really have done research that I never did, but what Astro does...that is real research.

Not being mean and I'm not attacking you. I am just being honest with myself.

May I ask what experiments you have done?

I have flown on a plane and didn't see curve and I used to say that was proof we don't live on a ball. That was the extent of my experimenting. Only to find out when I actually tried to find out why, that you can't see the curve from a plane.

But what experiments have you done that have led you to say it's fact that the earth is flat?

Edit-forgot words.

I think this is what it was like when man discovered fire.

Caveman 1 - Behold! fire! Now we can stay warm and make love to the firelight.

Caveman 2 - Fake! Fire is impossible! You are a trickster!

Snowstorm happens.
Caveman 1 survives. Women flock to Caveman 1, make more smart cavemen.

Caveman 2 dies in the snow. Happily thinking he is right.

We are just missing the snow these days. :)

Do you have eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to understand? JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY WAY to SALVATION, DELIVERANCE and PEACE! Soon his grace will be taken from the earth and his WRATH will be poured out. Accept JESUS CHRIST while the GRACE of GOD is still available. May the Peace of God be with you! I hate to sound like an asshole, but this whole live stream show seems soooooooooo staged and rehearsed. This feels like one giant propaganda piece.

Look! Everyone at NASA is just like in Star Trek--look at all the ethnic diversity we have here. Look how smart we all are! Look at how science is the be-all end-all answer to every question in the universe. Scientists are cool and trendy. Oh, and we're all wearing TWO masks because....SCIENCE!

Ugh. This is fucking lame.

The fact that there is probably an army of sheep out there in awe of this whole charade makes me want to vomit.

If my question sounds ignorant please forgive me but what if anything would a simple compass read on the surface of mars ?
 Quoting: crowfluence

Not at all. Good question actually.

Mars has no detectable magnetic field similar to earth, so a compass wouldn't work.

There is good evidence Mars may have had a magnetic field in the distant past based upon magnetic measurements of igneous rocks on Mars by the other rovers. It is believed that Mars lost the bulk of its atmosphere when it lost is magnetic field which protects the atmosphere from solar wind.

That’s based on the assumption that the New Horizons probe is actually hundreds of thousands of miles from earth. And I can assure you, it was not. That’s where your measurements fall like a house of cards. Now even the Mars distance isn’t sound evidence...
