Cruz sparked outrage on Thursday for flying from Houston to Cancun, Mexico, for a family vacation even as millions of his fellow Texans froze because of a huge winter storm and widespread power outages.

Thousands of Twitter posts blasted Cruz for the ill-timed jaunt after photos circulated online of him at a Houston airport and then onboard a plane Wednesday afternoon. The Texas Democratic Party, among others, demanded that Cruz resign from the Senate.

I agree, and then dropping off two females in Mexico of all places. I mean, he's allowed to, but it's not the move of a high caliber leader during a crises. I can find the move disappointing and disrespectful. He voluntarily chose a job in politicswhich is all about people, and there are opportunities to be in the trenches if he really cared/wanted. He'll probably do those things now after the backlash.

I believe we are so desperate for heroes we are accepting anybody who sort of fits the bill and placing them on fake pedestals.
