Holy crap that's an amazing image. The rover from the skycrane, just about to touch down.

I have done more than anyone else here to personally investigate this mission. I spent hours with multiple telescopes tracking it from launch out to the moon, plotting its trajectory, verifying where it came from and where it was going. No one else even tried, so all of my haters can fuck right off.

That isn't NASA data, that's my data, from my images, plotted in my software.

They have now removed the protective covers from the hazard cameras. They're in the process of deploying and verifying the high gain antenna.

Mastcam-Z will be deployed on Saturday.

They just showed color images. There will be plenty of color images from this rover. The main camera uses the exact same color CCD that I use for deep space imaging.

HOW DO THEY TEST ALL THIS STUFF ON EARTH TO MAKE SURE IT WILL WORK ON MARS?
DO THEY LAUNCH THESE DEVICES INTO ORBIT THEN HAVE THEM LAND BACK ON EARTH TO FIGURE OUT HOW THEY WILL WORK. OR DO THEY JUST TO DO COMPUTATIONAL TEST TO SIMULATE HOW IT WILL ALL WORK ONCE IT GETS TO MARS?

And all your hours of calculations dont prove anything either.

If you were really legit you wouldnt care about convincing some people who dont believe you.

Really good systems engineering and computations mostly. The hypersonic parachute is one of the hardest parts and at the moment it's mostly still extrapolated from tests that were done back in the upper atmosphere of Earth in the '70s. Martian gravity is only a fraction of Earth, so the engines and the design are all intended for Martian gravity and wouldn't work on Earth. Not to mention the toxicity of the propellants used. They have the advantage of being stable for the long cruise to Mars, but they are very toxic. Cape Canaveral is still trying to actively clean up toxic chemicals that have gotten into the groundwater from hypergolic propellants used on rockets like the Titan II back in the early days that the space race.

Prove how far away that stuff is.

Actually it proves they sent something to Mars. Those numbers come from observational data, I didn't just pull them out of my ass like you did with that post of yours just now. I don't care about convincing you, I want to make you look stupid. I don't want you to believe me, actually. I actually want you to disbelieve me so that you will make yourself look ridiculous when a rational person sees the mountain of evidence I've generated versus the unsupported claims that you offer in response. Your argument from "nuh-uh" gets you nowhere with reasonable people. You're not a reasonable person though, and I have no interest in convincing you. I derive great joy and gathering this mountain of evidence that backs up everything NASA has said so that I can cram it down your throat.
