I'm sorry. See if they have given her new blood. If not, see if you can have a transfusion as treatment. If she is having trouble getting oxygen into the blood, the machines don't work, they just blow out the lungs. Not a DR, but experienced something with a family member that was like covid a few years before.

I asked for prayers a couple of times on here in last 10 years when in real rough predicament and I came through well on both occasions.

OP you need to have your family tell the hospital to treat her with a saline nebulizer for steam inhalation to moisten the lungs and break that stuff up so she can cough it out.

Ventilators only dry people's lungs out further with just causes the infection to continue to compact until the lungs collapse.

She was originally put on a vent to stop seizures but now she is pneumonia doe to asphyxiation. I believe the vent made her worse and she is still on it. Thank you all for your prayers.

Get her off morphine if you want her to live. It suppresses breathing.

But I am not sure it was a good idea,

Some people live for many years on a vent. They can be integrated with humidifiers so the moisture content is correct. There is however a problem called VAP. Ventilator associated pneumonia. How often you change the breathing circuit is important.

Back in May that happened to someone I know. Got sick in March and was put on one of those things and ended up dead on Memorial Day.

My cousin has been on a vent for many years. She was paralyzed in an accident some years ago. She uses a GE iVent 201 ventilator and another backup unit. It's a constant concern.
