I made the mistake once of "going on strike" since the other 4 in the house weren't helping anymore. It was in all the magazines back then if you went on strike, your family would hate the clutter and mess and start picking up after themselves again. It had glowing reviews. They never met my family! LOL

Going on strike on housework doesn't work. It just takes longer to clean up.

It's funny. My boys were the biggest pigs, growing up and my daughter was the neat freak. Now it's reversed. My daughter married a messy guy and the kids learned from him.

i"m not really a clean freak, but when I do clean I use Windex. Countertops, mirrors, floors, bugs....it all gets Windexed. The funny thing is that I'm allergic to it, so I often have to Windex the snot that suddenly drips out of my nose when I'm cleaning something else.

I do too, except for the floors. I can't imagine being allergic!

I tried a new cleaner that I really like. Maybe they have it at the base. It's Mr. Clean Clean Freak. Weird name, but it works REALLY WELL! Even on the hard water stuff in toilets and sinks.

And damn it. I was supposed to have merry maids this year. I miss their services!!!

I'm not a clean freak until I clean something, and then it has to be showroom new. Lol. I will try that Mr. Clean product if I can find it! We have the hardest well water ON EARTH here. I am not exaggerating. I have to take the faucet aerators off once a week to let the rocks out. The hard water buildup in the toilets and sinks is insane. The only thing that worked before is a product called "The Works," but they don't have it now. It was better and cheaper than CLR. I am experimenting with citric acid (food grade), which worked great on my bathroom sink tonight.

They don't have "The Works"? Figures. It IS better than CLR.

The Mr. Clean is fairly new and it's a foam.

I tried citric acid from Mr. TB's last hotel. He thought it was great, but I don't have the muscle he has to scrub! It was ok, but I leave it for him to use.

Other than the Windex crisis, things here are pretty good. I got an orchid a month ago when we moved into the apartment, and it is still blooming. I can't believe it. I also got a few succulents, and they are so cute in the windowsill. My AeroGarden herbs are going crazy, and I planted a bunch of flowers from seed on my balcony. Morning glories sprout fast! I have no idea what I'm doing with the flowers, but I don't care....

Just for the heck of it I took a look at the ongoing tally of "reinfections" that BNO has, I had not looked in on months.

Confirmed reinfections (which are scarce because sequencing each patient is impossible, and these are confirmed in the sense that the strain of the second time was different than in the first time) are at 70, with 3 deaths (4,2% CFR). Suspected reinfections (people that got diagnosed once and months later again, but are suspected because no one still knows if the person ever recovered or the virus simply went dormant, or they got it again, hence the "suspected" but in reality this is truly people that has fallen ill twice) are at around 37.5K+, with 38 deaths (so basically the same CFR than the virus at first time). This is only to point out that the immunity is still not proven to be a long term one.

I work with a guy who was re-infected, with about 9 months inbetween.

Asymptomatic the first time, average bad common cold or mild flu symptoms the second time. He's fine now, was only sick for a week. No lasting effects 4 months after 2nd go.

They say asymptomatics don't develop nearly as long lasting an immune response. Kinda like with the vaccine, 1st shot has no side effects but second makes you sick... and that's what gives you the lasting protection.

This video is some years old but it can serve to visualize the analogy of Bossche between viruses and bacteria. The “substrate” for viruses is the people, and the “antibiotics” are the antibodies in the human population. As long as we allow the virus to “eat”, it will keep adapting. Vaccines could be visualized as the higher concentrations of “antibiotics”, that only contribute to higher variability of the virus.
