Oh. Yeah. Supply chain is fucked.

Buy American what? “Working class” afford what? Chips for what? Oh potato chips. Sure. Those we can buy American.

President Biden makes pitch to working class with new 'buy American' efforts

Less than 50%

For the past several decades, presidents have pledged to bring back factory jobs without much success. Manufacturing employment peaked in 1979 at nearly 19.6 million jobs, only to slide downward with steep declines after the 2001 recession and the 2007-09 Great Recession. The figure now stands at 12.3 million.

Well, there is a problem with hosting manufacturing in the US. US workers want to be paid a lot more than their overseas competitors which increases the retail cost of their products. US consumers don't want to pay that extra retail cost, so they don't purchase products made in the US; they purchase the less expensive products manufactured overseas.

Politicians may be the ones actually allowing US jobs to be sent overseas, but it's Americans themselves that are perpetuating it by purchasing those products. If Americans were really serious about keeping jobs in America, they'd boycott anything not made in America and pony up the extra money for those products. But they're not, so they won't, and they choose to blame it all on the politicians when in reality all they have to do is look in the mirror.

By the way, on a personal note: I start my final course for becoming a certified OSHA instructor next week, and then I start a new job as an OSHA instructor the week after that. Lot's of travel involved. So if I'm more absent than usual, that's why. I'll still check in as much as I can, but don't worry if I go for a few days without popping in.

NY STATE has issues with getting hep to the renters. now they say they will get the $$ out by end of AUG,when the NY STATE moratorium runs out. so the state gov is kicking the can again as far as they can. with no sence of what happens when it does end.

think in time the others will have to follow CA idea of bailing out the landlords. that doesn't solve all of it thou. they going to forgive the back rents? when u bought a new car u still paid for it, even as DETROIT was bailed out.

there are several factors as to why the US citizens need more $$ than overseas. 1 is taxes. we have way too many papaer pushers that get high wages compared to an average worker. 2 is the way utilites are paid. 3 is the way some nations do their welfare programs.

and i didn't even start on the recession problems. what cuased it still has not been fixed and we owe tons.

This is bad.
Really bad.
Wtf.

Survey: 40% of North Dakotans worry they will lose their homes in the coming months

According to a survey by insurance quote comparison website, QuoteWizard, 8 percent of North Dakota homeowners are facing foreclosure, while 7 percent indicate they are behind in their mortgage payments.

When it comes to evictions, the survey suggests 40 percent of North Dakota renters say they’re facing eviction. That ranks North Dakota at #3 among states with the most people facing eviction.

Once upon a time in America there was a company called AC Delco that made auto parts. Lots and lots of unions, a union for everyone.

And the unions wanted more and more in wages and benefits and asked for it.

And the management said, "Eh, it only adds X dollars to the cost of a car, let's say yes, pass it on, and keep our lives easy, everyone will love us in the plants."

Until those pesky imported cars showed up and offered a really nice, high quality product that got people's attention.

Until those punch press operators were making in excess of $100,000 per year plus great retirement, vacation, insurance, etc.

Until the management said, "hey, we need to get real folks, looks like there need to be some fundamental changes."

To which the union said, "we like our rv's, motorcycles, vacation homes, and tons of vacation, you were dumb enough to agree to our demands, now you can eat crap..."

Until the company finally had to close because they were priced out of the market.

And all the people said, "but I'm only 50, I'll never find a job that pays me in excess of $100,000, how will I support my rv's, motorcycles, vacation homes, and all those things???"

"Eat crap," said the rest of the world...

Incomplete data. We need to know how long those infected people have been vaccinated. If six months or longer, then the Delta variant hasn't achieved vaccine breakthrough; it's just starting to beat the steady drop in vaccine efficacy as it falls below 50%.

If all or most of those infected people have been vaccinated within the past 90 days, then we have a huge problem on our hands. But I doubt that's the case.

There were a couple of tornadoes, a TON of lightning, but we were fortunate to be on the edge rather than the middle of the storm swath. It veered a bit which was our good fortune.

Clean up only took me about half an hour and I didn't have to get the chainsaw out.

Thanks for asking, CG.
