I wonder if this a “leak” to drive up vax numbers.
It’ll be interesting to see if it gets approval.

Sneaking asshole virus, but sure the vaccines are going to work. /s/

New study details enzyme that allows coronavirus to resist antiviral medications

Less than 50%

SARS-CoV-2 is an RNA virus, which means its genetic material is composed of ribonucleic acid. When the virus replicates, it must synthesize RNA. But the virus’s genome is unusually large when compared to other RNA viruses, which creates a relatively high likelihood that errors arise during RNA synthesis. These errors take the form of mismatched nucleotides, and too many errors can prevent the virus from propagating.

But the ExoN enzyme acts as a proofreader, recognizing mismatches in the virus RNA and correcting errors that occur during RNA synthesis, Yang said. The enzyme is present only in coronaviruses and a few other closely related virus families, he said.

COVID: New restrictions set in - will Israel go into lockdown?

Earlier Tuesday, the Israeli Health Ministry announced that both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers coming to Israel from the US and 17 other countries will need to quarantine for 2 weeks starting Aug. 10.

The JPost also reported that the Health Ministry has opened the door to a possible lockdown this fall if hospitalizations and deaths increase.

Also on Tuesday, Gantz announced that an additional 1K reservists will be called back to support the ministry’s activities related to the pandemic. Soldiers are employed for several logistical activities. And an additional 500 medics are going to be recruited to assist the Health Ministry’s vaccination efforts.

It’s kind of creepy.... their excess deaths are actually below normal.

Yeah. That would be awesome.... but given what we know about this virus.... that makes this puzzle officially smelly. Like fish paste in a tube.

Tedros....

"Accordingly, WHO is calling for a moratorium on boosters until at least the end of September, to enable at least 10% of the population of every country to be vaccinated"

Yeah, they may not own up to their mistakes, but they know that boosters are gonna fuuuuuuck things up more.

Just an update...my dad's fully-vaxxed neighbor who came down with COVID died around noon yesterday. The neighbor's wife (also fully vaccinated) has now tested positive and is starting to display symptoms. She has gone to the hospital for the Regeneron cocktail (not that it helps). Things are just fucking grim.

So let me get this straight.... New Zealand controlled sars Cov 2, but is still having the same RSV issues.....

Things that make you say mmmmmmmm.

“ At six of New Zealand's main hospitals, the number of people admitted for RSV spiked to 951 in the week ending Monday, July 18. However, in the week ending Monday, July 25, that number dropped to 787.”

Ummmm!?!?

Ready for a little uncovid, unprepper news?

I bought a totally unplanned item the other day for mental health. Mine!

We had to replace a microphone for the post and the only place that had them was one of the music stores in town. While Mr. TB was getting that, I was looking at the keyboards. I'm SO out of practice, since I had to leave my upright grand and gramma's big church organ in Texas. I haven't even touched a keyboard in several years.

Most of what they had were either beginner levels or performance keyboards. Neither of which would I use much. They had a Yamaha P-125 for a very decent price, so it followed me home. It's sitting on my kitchen table right now because I have to move some furniture around to put it in the corner I want it in. That's my project for the next couple of days.

I asked the store owner if I didn't buy it now, how long would it take to get another in. He said that it would be at least 6 months. After going through that with other things I ordered last year, I bought it off the floor. The very best part is I also got a good set of headphones so I can play to my heart's content and not bother anyone!

I know it's not the latest and greatest, but I love the touch and sound. I'm not professional anymore and won't be. This is enough and as long as there is electricity, I'm good.
