HeLa cells were infected with MPXV-WA and MPXV-ROC, respectively, at an MOI of 1 in the presence of a series of concentrations of resveratrol and the viral titers were measured 24 hpi. As shown in Figures 3A,B, 50 μM resveratrol reduced the virus yield of MPXV-WA and MPXV-ROC clades by 195- and 38-fold, respectively. The IC50 was 12.41 μM for WA strain and 15.23 μM for ROC strain (Table 2). The inhibitory effect of MPXV replication by resveratrol was comparable to the well-characterized orthopoxvirus (OPXV) inhibitor, AraC, in the corresponding parallel experiments (Figure 3). Reseveratrol inhibits reproduction of the orthopoxviruses. The ancient remedy and prophylactic for smallpox was cream of tartar. I have not looked into it, but considering that resveratrol comes from wine, and cream of tartar comes from the residue left in emptied wine casks, there is almost certainly a link there. Perhaps there is resveratrol or a similar compound in cream of tartar. Something to remember if supplies of resveratrol dry up in coming weeks. All I drink is wine for my alcoholic intake. User ID: 77771189 United States 05/24/2022 09:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | been a lot of double talk and playing with wording yesterday and over the wkend. based on the way #'s are reported with covid, the #'s for the pox were lower than expected. there are several more countries with cases and more cases than what the official reports show. and as we posted here, lots more being monitored. govern's are kicking the can on this and hoping it doesn't blow up. they have 2 big bets 1> the small pox vaccine will work and stop the MP. 2> the MP runs 6 layers of infection then dies out on its own. so the normal MP infects 1, that 1 infects another and so on out 6 times than stops. this ain't normal MP thou. if this is covid pox, a merge of the covid with the monkey pox, their bets are way off the mark. granted a lot depends on what changed in the MP. too early to know for sure what traits the new version has. it also could just b a MP+, plus being that the vax has changed it and it only affects vaxed ppl with lowered immune systems. MSM has mentioned it on their nightly news. very briefly and downplaying it. "nobody has died" in the West countries from MP... due to our medical services and treatements. so far the pox is mostly in gay ppl who were at a spa resort overseas. so far most govern's are handling this just as bad as they did with covid at the start. letting it spread but monitoring the situation. betting it won't blow up. changing their own rules as to how med workers will deal with infected patients and who should isolate. i have no confidence in our CDC. can hope this doesn't become a major outbreak and isn't covid pox. if it does go airborne, children will b infected quickly this time instead of old ppl. it also would affect working age ppl more so than covid at the start. even with a low death rate, the up to 10% is higher than covid. the boils/ sores will scare the public more than the assymptomatic way covid infected ppl. very concerning to the supply chains. most likely if it is as contagious as OMI, then the death rate would b lowered. based on yesterday and unless something big happens, i expect they will kick this to after the holiday wkend. there are some isolated pockets of odd virus diseases popping up. we've seen HEP and the HF plus the "fever" in NK. appears covid is starting to merge with other viruses. not good signs of our future, but for now we can hope the merges stay isolated and short lived. User ID: 77771189 United States 05/24/2022 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well i do hate being right. yesterday somewhere, i posted all meat would have to b thrown away if an outbreak happens at a meat plant. like we had in the early days of covid. my big concern is how it is "in the meat". covid was in the air and they thought it didn't survive on surfaces long. MP survives longer in air and on surfaces. so my math says it can float down from the air onto meat. if this is skin to skin infecting, all u have to do is touch the contaminated meat with your hands. that is a nightmare scenario and i do hope we get more intel on it. it would change the game.
