Yes, I have also dodged the covid bullet for now. As far as I know at least, I have never been tested and have had some congestion and a slight cough a few months ago but nothing serious.

My dad died from it so am assuming I will go severe if I get it.

Anyways, in even cooler news, Monkeypox is now in MI!!!! Detected in the county I moved away from of all places. So thankful to have moved.

yeah, i was very surprised when cases in NY jumped from the Catskills to here so quickly. didn't follow the path of covid going along the turnpike.

with the holiday and swimming and drinking parties, this will b wide spread by next week. we know they are NOT testing properly at all.testing is being "ramped up" to handle 10,000 a week. that was a news report.

guess the PC equality crowd will b happy. evertone will b equally ugly with the sore scars.

based on #'s out of CA from WHITE's reports yesterday, only bout 20% of the country has avoided covid so far. cases doubling in 6mths. combined with the long covid data, we're lucky the lights are still on.

i think the % of ppl trying to avoid covid is <1 %. based on the ppl of GLP and the few mask wearers i do see when i am out.

I'm waiting. Our town has a large gay community with an equally large celebration every year. Local reports said it was even larger than past years.

Just trying to stay home as much as possible. Still no luck on finding a new place to live, either. Everything livable is too expensive.

I believe you! I know of a few people who died/got REALLY sick with Covid 1.0 in 2020, pre vaccine. My relative who is in her 80's and has every comorbidity got it last year. She was double vaxxed but not boosted. So, she got Delta version and did ok. Another relative (who it should have killed) got it just a month ago, and got over it just fine. Also vaxxed and boosted.

COVID is on the increase here in SE Texas, but it seems to be more of an annoyance. The people I know who have tested positive, usually have just a few days of mild cold type symptoms, and it's over. Note: These are teenagers, so they are pretty much immortal, or at least they think so.

i posted that but didn't comment on it. those are quotation marks. the %'s are small compared to the #'s vaxed. but it is a glimpse to where the workers have gone and how long the supply chains can hold up.

Not really hiding, Jazz. We go where we need to and do what we really want, kind of. What holds us back are the other health problems we had before covid. We just can't do the same things we used to. As much as we love going to Cedar Point, the thought of "doing" the park isn't appealing anymore. We'd have to use scooters and would ONLY do that for the kiddos.

I'm so sad that people are leaving the group. Don't y'all realize that while people are set on their chose course, we ALL need each other regardless? I know fatigue happens. I'm tired too. You guys have no idea. I come on here to see what everyone is doing, to see what "normal" is these days.

My new normal isn't fun and I try not to post about it. I like to come on here and forget my own troubles for just a little bit. Y'all are my touchstone to the rest of the world. I won't be globe trotting ever again. Hell, I was worn out just going to Missouri and back for over a week this time. We didn't even stop at my favorite candle store in Indiana.
