Oh. My..... this one.... it just screams exploding other cells by accident....

Oops.

Halberd Corporation's Scientific Breakthrough: Conjugating Metallic Particles to SARS-CoV-2 and E. Coli Antigens

Less than 50%

The moieties (nanoparticles conjugated with an antibody and antigen) resonate (vibrate) at their natural frequency when exposed to a tuned radio frequency. This causes heating of the conjugate and destroys the disease antigen, thus eliminating "the pathophysiologic basis of the disease."

I'm reading/lurking and I want to put this out there:
...
My thoughts lately have been along the lines of "what is it I want to survive into?". If the world is sliding into a world of Western decline, a harder and darker world of cogs grinding to a halt, why would I want to live in that world?

I dont know what is going to happen next (and honestly, no one does) but what OS the point anymore? I am surrounded by morons. I am surrounded by people mired in bias and Dunning-Kruger is rampant. People are quick to judge and if it's their sacred cow, they double down.

Basically...basically... I am of the opinion of fuck it all. I may just vanish from the threads. I may just opt out of participation in the real world as well. I am tired of people. Goddamn it. So tired of this world and it's inhabitants. So tired of the stupidity we collectively fall into over and over and over...

Most israelis have antibodies or got a shot, borders are shut except for israeli nationals so less chances of variants getting in. Once they open up then crap hits the fan over there,
 Quoting: General Thade

The UK variant made it into Australia, it's been in Israel since December.

SA variant was found there in January.
 Quoting: R. Wordsworth

Like I said before, I’m keeping my eye on Israel.
I want to see what level of “reopen/normal” they can achieve after their vaccination campaign - with regards to the variants that we know exist. They have at least NY, UK and African.

Then the question will ultimately be, how long can they manage until a completely new variant sets everything back to scratch.

The challenge will be detecting and containing variant spread due to the need of sequencing.

APRIL predictions-

where is DYIN and the Scooby van? bugged out? left RW with a broken ankle. so least the timeline has slowed down.

 Quoting: JAZZz50

Yes, I have bugged out pretty much. I still have some items to get from the house in the city and a couple of loose ends to tie up with vet and dental appointments so really trying to focus on getting those done before its really bad.

I'm still terrified. I have put off the dentist due to the pandemic last year and now I am having an issue with a tooth. I think I might have damaged it from all the grinding and clenching I have been doing out of stress.

Van is actually in the shop.....needs some work and I want to get it all fixed up before I can't. Its a 2003 so hopefully it won't be a problem to get any parts since it doesn't have any chipset crap that are running low for new cars.

I have been trying to keep my head down and stay focused on my tasks but not hearing ANY news on the virus other than VACCINE VACCINE VACCINE VACCINE VACCINE has my spidey senses up.

What really is going on with infection worldwide? I gotta catch up on this thread to get the real info.

Hope everyone is well!!!!

The normalcy bias of thinking this virus won’t elude all kitchen sinks is painful to watch..... I read this and just see more mutations being forced.

Latest....

Have scientists found SARS-CoV-2's Achilles' heel?

Less than 50%

The team suggests that having monoclonal antibody therapies that include antibodies targeting the N-terminal domain would provide broader protection and increasing the likelihood of neutralizing SARS-CoV-2 variants.

I just got a email from work regarding monoclonal antibody thearpy this morning in the daily 'Covid19' update they send.

"Monoclonal Antibodies Recommended: Drugs called monoclonal antibodies are recommended and available for use in the outpatient setting in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 infection and risk factors for developing severe infection needing hospitalization. The drug is given by one intravenous infusion at one of the many sites set up around the System and is considered an important tool to prevent severe disease. "

I agree, and why I'm trying to get things done now vs 2 weeks from now. I think Easter gatherings will bring a whole bunch of new infections since all the vaccinated think they are safe.

Keep prepping....I'm def seeing empty spots in the canned goods section and freezer sections and the stores I'm at are way better stocked than what I have seen down in the city.

With the cargo ship being blocked they now have a reason to say 'oh sorry no supplies, but it has nothing to do with the virus, just this 1 ship'

I'm sorry but that whole thing is b.s. and planned IMO. Its oh so horrible for this ship to block the canal yet they only have 1 bulldozer trying to get it out? It doesn't seem like they are trying very hard to free it with as bad as a situation it is....losing 9.5billion a day or something...??

I guess I just need to shut up, sit down and trust "the plan" right?

Iowa....

Iowa’s 7-day COVID-19 positivity rate is back up to 5% as rates have been slowly rising in the state over the last week.

The Iowa Department of Public Health on Tuesday reported 654 new positive COVID-19 tests and four additional deaths.

Someone go tell Jackal the other threads we ran to :)

So, I know this is going to sound a bit alarmist and this thread seems to have died on the vine in the last month or so but...

I have been very successful over the years at predicting seemingly unpredictable events simply by reading between the lines, finding the signal in the noise and finding connections between things that on the surface seem to be not connected but actually are.

There's a lot of "gut feeling" and paying attention to the things that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up involved.

I am increasingly getting the sense that this is a long term depopulation event. Infertility. Reinfections. Long term health consequences in survivors- eventual development of Parkinson's-like brain wasting diseases. There is no end, just a cyclic return to a baseline and then a resurgence of peaks over and over again. The vaccines I think, in the end, will prove to not be very useful at best, or at worst they will cause some of the same long term effects that will be eventually learned about this disease.

Meanwhile, the unvaccinated will eventually be restricted from society in an almost Amish-like existence. If you want to participate, you will have to be vaccinated, face scanned and tracked. Many will accept this to be able to work, shop, bank, travel and will unwittingly submit themselves and their families to sterilization and death.

Despite this, the disease itself will continue its work. The general population will be like mounds of sand being passed down a conveyor belt with tiny holes in it where at the end of the belt, a tiny percentage sifts through onto the floor. The remaining part that reaches the end of the belt drops into a pan and is then recycled into the hopper at the beginning of the belt and the process begins again until the mound of sand gets smaller and smaller.

This is the sense I get of what the coming years will be like.

Thinking that any comparisons can be drawn from anything in previous human experience is likely a grave mistake.

I see nothing good coming from this.

And that phrase right there is, I think, a key concept. Every single one of us takes measured risks every single day (without the pandemic) and think nothing of it. Getting in my truck and driving 40 miles to my workplace is a measured risk. Living in the city is a measured risk. Being married is a measured risk.

When we talk about a new reality, that's actually what we're discussing. Not a complete destruction of life as we know it, but an alteration to how we define and approach measured risks.

I'm sitting at my desk right now on lunch break eating Dairy Queen I picked up from drive-through. I am not wearing my mask, both because I'm eating and because no one else is around me right now. Those are both risks that I have evaluated and concluded the threat is low enough to take those risks. (Edit - after I typed this paragraph, the cleaning lady came into the front lobby where my desk is without wearing a mask. I promptly put mine on. Observe. Orient. Decide. Act.)

Am I prepared for the absolute worst-case scenario of the fall of civilization as we know it? Yes, I am. And thanks to DT's original thread I jumped from 90 days of prep to almost a year. So, knowing I'm prepared, I can worry less about that and move back to focusing on an altered daily routine that involves less personal contact, almost no eating out at restaurants, and wearing a mask when going inside grocery stores, hardware stores, or other public places.

Raffette decided to get the Moderna vaccine. Her research, her measured risk, her decision. I'm considering the J&J vaccine, but will certainly not be rushing into it. I have a doctor's appointment on April 7th for other things and I plan to discuss pros and cons with her.

Obviously, some people will be putting absolutely no consideration into their risk whatsoever, which the rest of us must take into account when measuring our own risk. Some people will put too much consideration into their risk, which won't affect the rest of us at all.

Basically, it boils down to what I tell people when teaching active shooter response: "You, and only you, are responsible for your own safety until the cavalry arrives," except in the case of the pandemic, I'm not expecting the cavalry to arrive at all.

SARS-CoV-2: A Piece of Bad News

Less than 50%

The battle against COVID-19 is not yet over, and many unmet challenges remain for healthcare workers, researchers and above all those at risk of infection and disease. The COVID-19 crisis is ongoing, and will continue to cause more deaths worldwide. The lessons from SARS-CoV have not been learned, with healthcare systems around the world were not prepared to face the current wave of infection, or re-emergence of infections in the future. Given that there is currently no proven specific anti-COVID-19 treatment, further research is needed to fully understand the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2.

Nobody can work in America for the past year with the sniffles and not be required to get a COVID test.

And like I asked you yesterday... do you really think that there are thousands of people every day in Mississippi coming down with COVID and testing negative, and nobody noticed?

These new mystery strains must be pretty mild because none of these thousands and thousands of people are being hospitalized... lowest numbers right now in MS since the beginning of fall and they're still dropping.

Short answers to your questions:

1) No.

2) No.

Longer versions:
There's damn little about this virus that we ARE sure about. Masks definitely do *mitigate* - whether or not you consider that "working" is a matter of degree.

Vaccines haven't been out long enough to have good, solid, reliable data. My guess is they will turn out to be the same as masks, in that they *mitigate* a person's chances of getting infected, and if they do get infected, how severely.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that ten years from now we're going to find out that there is/was a percentage of the global population with a specific genetic marker that made them either naturally immune or extremely susceptible to the virus. This would explain why some people who never took precautions and even slept with significant others who were infected never became infected themselves, and why others got deathly ill despite taking all the precautions they could.

7 day average in Mississippi at it's lowest level since May 2020, one month after lifting mask mandate.

1. Are we sure masks work?

2. Are we sure vaccines don't?

The just the sniffles crowds don’t get tested. And those tests are NOT catching everything.....

 Quoting: CleverCreator

Nobody can work in America for the past year with the sniffles and not be required to get a COVID test.

And like I asked you yesterday... do you really think that there are thousands of people every day in Mississippi coming down with COVID and testing negative, and nobody noticed?

These new mystery strains must be pretty mild because none of these thousands and thousands of people are being hospitalized... lowest numbers right now in MS since the beginning of fall and they're still dropping.

Wordsie, to be fair, Europe is going the exact opposite direction we are. Who knows if we are going to follow in their footsteps again or not? I'm not allowing this lull in numbers over here to give me a false sense of security. Let's see if this drop in the States continues through April, and if it does, then you might be able to force feed me some of that extra Hopium you seem to carry in your fanny bag.

I'm not ruling that out, but I do consider those part of the worst-case scenario, and if we actually get to that point, we will have much bigger problems than which of you was correct. Jury is still out for me.
