We had to go to Sam's and Meijer this afternoon. It's official...the summer idiots, I mean people, remembered how to get here. I think they told their friends, too. Traffic on the main strip was a nightmare! The next town over is having their rescheduled Walleye Fest this weekend. Any other time, we'd go. Nope. I can't go where everyone else is.

It's SO hard this summer to stay home, but most people are out without masks now. I'm more worried about THEM infecting me!

I have to confess, we're going to Missouri next month to stay with the grands. Sil has a surprise for my daughter. I worried about it for a tiny bit, but I thought screw it! If I'm going to die, at least I'll die happy! Can't make it to Texas yet, but at least I'll see half of my kids.

Florida COVID variants soared 80% in May, despite drop in new cases

Variant infections increased 80% last month, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Florida Department of Health data shows. Through May 31, more than 18,500 cases were recorded across all of the state’s 67 counties except Washington.

These make up just 0.8% of Florida’s over 2.3 million cases, but their increase has been astronomical.

Two months ago, Florida had fewer than 3,000 variant cases. That number has more than sextoupled — a 529% spike — since March 31.

I think that fungus scares me more than covid....

My solution is meat-on-the-hoof. I keep looking at my herd of geese and ducks in the front yard. Now, I have 7 baby geese that are as big as chickens.

Then there is the baby bull in the pasture with Sweet Heart, the Jersey cow. He is 7 months old. I can let him grow a few more months and he will breed Sweet Heart to produce her next calf.

Or, I could put him in the freezer and start milking her daily. I have not decided to make that commitment yet.
