If this was a bioweapon deliberately produced by the Chinese, it is my limited understanding that Rule #1 of biological warfare is that you do not release the pathogen until you have the antidote for your own people. Apparently, even after many months, they don't?

That is Rule #1 for biowarfare, but everything points to this being an accidental release, not deliberate.

well it will do 2 things.

side note- remember the WHOLE world is in this crisis. we ,the US, have not reached HYPER INFLATION due to economic issues of our own. that will b ADDED on later.

i think at least some, maybe half, of those containers on board are empty. this is an IMO.

let's go back and do some math- the problem at the port seems to b empty containers. in the normal JIT supply chain, wouldn't those empties be needed overseas to bring more cargo? why now won't ships take them?

we were told several reasons over time. but those do not make sence.even if u wanted to re-load faster once back at your home port, that port needs containers to continue filling while u are in route. the home country would fill all their containers and run out. the JIT depends on movement of goods and supplies back and forth in equilibrium. where did this break??

most likely at the production level due to the pandemic. we knew this and see it. less workers so less is produced. then less can b moved. the ships leaving the US would b loaded with supplies for CHINA or other nations. why aren't they? less stuff or goods have been produced during lockdowns. where did the whole pandemic start and where did it get ugly? CHINA and INDIA. they don't have enuf to fill containers. hence they do not need more empties cause they can not fill the containers they have in the home ports now.

shall we look at this more? u aren't getting paid $$, if the stuff is sitting in the ocean. it needs to b off loaded and sold. see CHINA complaining bout not getting $$? would u b by now? if i am wrong, there would b a huge
over supply sitting at the home ports not being shipped or sold. those countries would b trying to get any country to take em just to make some $$. in which case prices to someone would b going way down.

The whole issue of "when is payment made?" depends entirely on how the contracts are written.

The idea that someone doesn't get "paid" until the goods in question reach their final destination is simply not true.

There are any number of variations that are routinely used.

"FOB" means "free on board", "FAS" means "free along side", etc., etc.

If I had a dime for every large contract with a foreign buyer I negotiated I'd have a lot of dimes...

I'd routinely get 35% downpayment, meaning I got 35% of the value before I did a single thing.

I'd get 55% when it left my factory for wherever it was destined for.

I'd get the final 10% after delivery and installation.

Please don't assume money isn't flowing regardless of what might be sitting on a ship or how long it's been sitting there, that's simply not necessarily an accurate assumption to make.
