Well, I kept the peas alive longer than I thought I could. We had a massive heat wave (upper 90s) the past couple of weeks. They seemed to love it, but some type of powdery mildew killed them off. I managed to harvest a handful of pods for a photo op. I took out the peas and planted some cucumbers this afternoon.

My husband is out at sea in the Baltic for a big exercise. Let's hope it stays an exercise.

We pay for gas here by the liter. It's about $6.25 per gallon, but we get reimbursed for some of that (taxes) if we use a certain gas station. I forget the name of the gas station, but the logo is a 6-legged fire-breathing dog, so it's pretty recognizable. Lol.

They aren't picking up our garbage as often lately. This navy housing complex (all apartments) has dumpsters every half block or so, and they are overflowing. I'm guessing gas and diesel prices are causing cutbacks on the number of days the trucks run. The problem is we don't have an alternative. I saw a comment on YouTube the other day from a rural person who said their "transfer station" trucks weren't coming anymore because they couldn't afford the gas. SO, people in the cities and suburbs.....get ready to be taxed out the wazoo for this crap. And people in the rural areas, you will most likely be on your own.

Edit: The YT comment was a person in the rural US. I am in Italy, where the local government is in control of our trash collection. Just wanted to clarify.

Isn't swirling down the drain fun? /sarc

Wheeee!!!
