Some local information:

Gas prices have dropped below $5/gallon finally, but diesel prices are over $6/gallon and still rising.

Comment was made at work today about the possibility of smaller clients going out of business due to the high fuel costs. They are "worried."

Local veterinarian said they're having supply issues, including meds.

Personally, I think the whole global system is akin to a freight train that ran out of fuel, but its own momentum has kept it going down the tracks so from the inside it looks like everything is normal. Only from the outside can you tell that the engines aren't running.
