Actually....they were. I'm old enough to remember. It was MUCH better. I stayed with my mother still I was nearly 6, no day care, nursery school bullshit. Just played with other kids in the neighborhood. I would go home at lunch time, we'd watch her shows together, and then when I came home after school, she was always there. I never came home to an empty house, not until I was a teen. I'm glad Mom was there. SHE TAUGHT ME TO READ....not a school. And that's the way it should be. Mom was my best friend through life and I think that started when I was a little kid. I don't know if it would have been like that if I'd been raised in nursery schools and day care or nannies.
