I happen to know that without some form of directional stabilization it isn't controllable either. The atmospheric pressure on Mars is less than 1/100th that of earth, this thing cant possibly work on Mars, it was tested in normal earth atmospheric composition and density, in other words never intended to actually work.

The claim Astro makes is you can accurately measure the distance to a star trillions of miles away by measuring the angle between two separate observational points on earth at a maximum possible distance between these points of around 8000 miles,while the earth rotating on it's axis and revolving around the sun in it's orbit, as the solar system orbits the center of the galaxy and that galaxy itself moves through space.

Not only would this angle be immeasurably small, any attempt to synchronize the two separate telescopes that resulted in errors of even a billionth of a second would render the results useless. Conclusion: measuring the distance to all but the closest celestial objects using "parallax" is impossible

Look at his description of how astronomers measure the distance to very distant stars. Keep in mind the problem is extremely complex and timing to this small an increment of time is currently beyond out abilities. The problem is the earth is not just orbiting the sun in an orbit (curved path), it is revolving itself and the solar system is itself moving around the center of the galaxy is a circular path, all the while the galaxy itself is moving.


But Astro can do it, with a backyard telescope.

You're stupid, those tanks are used on new air frames, to test load balancing. They are not chemical tanks, they move WATER between them, simulating crowds walking around inside the plane, like when it's loading and when it's flying.

You could use parallax to measure he distance to relatively close object. Trying to say you used parallax to accurately measure the distance to a star millions of light years away is BULLSHIT

The problem is what works on Earth in our atmosphere with it's density, temperature and composition cannot be expected to work on Mars simply by increasing the rpm of the rotors to 2300 rpm, which is what they claimed IN THE TEST, not 500-800.
You cant just increase the mass either, if it could lift 4 pounds on Mars then it could theoretically lift four hundred pounds on earth using the same rotors and rpm.

. The only way to accurately test if it would work is by testing it in a rarefied atmosphere with the same pressure and composition. What you will find is since you have so little atmosphere to push against the energy requirements would be astronomical, if you'll forgive the pun.

I design and fly my own fully autonomous drones, BTW, and just differences in barometric pressure on earth can result in different performance and efficiency, as can altitude.
