Well these policies do put a race/gender weighting factor into real decisions.

Need an oncologist? The Asian with a Harvard degree is probably far more qualified than the black guy with a Harvard degree, because of Harvard's admissions process. Need to pick a lawyer at a firm? The black lawyers may just be there to fulfill diversity requirements, and may not be there based on merit.

Need to count on a squadmate? Don't count on the woman, because they may not be able to lift an ammo box, let alone operate an M-60.

Standards exist so that we don't have to take these factors into account. When you create double standards, you push the burden of judgment onto the ultimate consumer of the service.

Time to stop teaching racist math. All anyone needs to know is big vs small. 1-100 are small numbers a million is a big number. 2+5=small number 25*1000=big number.

My youngest was educated up to grade 3 at a private school abroad. When she was in grade 4 in Canada she got zero on a math assignment of simple multiplications because she didn't show her work. She had already learned her times tables and didn't need to work out what 3 x 4 or 5 x 6 equals because she knew it in her head. I was furious. The fucking teacher even suggested she cheated. So I went to the principal and demanded they give her a test to prove she knew up to 12 x 12 by memory. After that, they never marked an answer wrong because she didn't show her work on simple multiplications.

Here's a cool trick. 11 x any 2 digit number would be:

11 x 25 = 2 (2+5) 5, or, 275. Well, that's the right answer, not to be racist or anything.

2+2=5*

*for very large values of 2

The worst part is that kids that "showed their work" figuring out what 3 x 3 is but got the answer wrong got half marks. My kid got zero because she didn't follow instructions like a good little sheep. She told me at the time that she didn't understand what they meant by "show your work". That was her first week here, welcome to fucking Canada.

Because it's not whether you get the right answer, it's if you follow the prescribed process to find the right answer.

Now it's not even about getting the right answer... it's about obedience to authority, and repentance for being born white. Answers are irrelevant, as long as you obey. The state of American education, ladies and gentlemen.

Math is entirely objective once axioms have been selected. Axiom selection isn't really studied before graduate level mathematics-- this kind of subtlety would never be encountered in a standardized setting. The idea that math isn't objective simply because it's "possible" to axiomatically assume that 1+1=3 is disingenuous.

Poorly constructed word problems can result in multiple interpretations regarding what problem one is being asked to solve. This is a completely separate issue from the claim that mathematics isn't objective though.
