The stores have been empty selling off all the stock.

The only electronics store that was worthy in Austin Tx back in the day. Sad.

I bought and returned so much defective Chinese electronic shit there it was crazy.

Now where will I go to walk the equivalent of an entire football stadium just to save a few bucks?

I have hundreds of items laying around I mostly never use I bought there!

Best thing I ever bought there was a close out on my 60 inch Panasonic plasma TV.

fry's has been on the way out for a long time. Best buy and amazon and walmart for that matter have been eating their lunch

Damn, last time I was in a Fry's electronics it must have been 1998 or 99... I honestly thought they were already out of business for at least 10-15 years!

They were an interesting electronics store, similar to best buy. What I really miss is circuit city. Fry's was the only go to place in many of their locations.

So far, it looks like Fry's Food/Drug stores are not affected. At least that website is still up.

It would suck for some areas if that closes up too. For instance, there are 20 Fry's Food/Drug stores in Phoenix, AZ alone. They're everywhere.

The only electronic store left will be Best Buy

Fry’s lost my custom when they started demanding to see my receipt when I left the store. That’s a violation of my Fourth Amendment rights.

Fry's has had a lot of empty shelves for some time now. I saw this coming. Oh well...

Why bother with a place like that when you can buy cheap throwaway electronics at Wal Fart and Targay? It’s just SO MUCH EASIER!!!. I mean, c’mon man. Why should you have a choice on which kind of electronics you want? The one you want might last a little longer, but we have something we’re sure you will like, and we think you will get used to it, and just forget about it!

Fry's unloaded their grocery division and stores to Kroger before the end came.

You can still use your Fry's charge cards at those stores!

Unless you don't have a Fry's grocery store nearby.

And if those Fry's charge cards are only for purchases at Fry's, they might have done some people a favor by closing down and making those cards worthless.

Radio Shack was fun and all but the sales people would never leave you alone. Sometimes i wanted to go in just to scan ites and develop an idea on the fly, but every other minute I get interrupted by sales person. They were like flies on shit! I just didn’t feel like I could Explore without being distracted every other minute.

Completely different company, even though the name is the same and the LOGO is almost identical. Frys Electronics was started by the original grocery store owner's sons, with some of the money the dad gave them after the sale. That's the only connection to Fry's grocery stores. The money to start the electronics business came from the proceeds of the sale of the grocery company.

Pulling your shirt or coat up for the pat down search going out the door was part of the thrill of the hunt for low prices, though.

I seriously would do that on the way out just to get a laugh out of the door guards.

And if they didn't initial your receipt, you might get hassled doing a return.

They would stare at you like a thief, and then call over management to authorize your return.

Just like you didn't have a receipt.

It was like shopping at the Chinese CCP communism of electronics. Which was pretty appropriate since nearly everything in there was MADE IN CHINA.

Before they were like that, you could go into a RadioShack and buy just about anything you needed to fix your own electronics. But you see that goes against the “disposable commodities” marketing, doesn’t it?

In retrospect, I see all of that as a dry run for all the horse shit they’re trying to make us submit to now. Cee Cee Pee?
