It's called myocarditis -- VIRAL HEART DISEASE.
My sister had a virus 10 years ago, damaged a valve in her heart. Caused heart failure (for which she eventually died. We knew it was not there previously b/c my dad had a heart birth defect and we were all checked for it as babies.
My dad also had rheumatic fever which caused additional scar tissue on his defect heart valve.
