How come Sweden, Norway and Finland are so heavily forested even in their far northern parts even up to the Arctic Ocean

Scandinavians are very responsible when it comes to managing their environment they plant trees they don't just wait for things to grow on their own one of the Scandinavian Nations actually has a law if I remember right there is a death penalty for attempting 2 harvest or destroy their national parks in any way

I suppose you spend all day on google maps and you don’t see trees so you think there are no trees. Fact is Canada has a number of hard wood forest. Old growth forest at that, maple, hickory, a very large number of species other than pine

If trees were growing so well in Iceland, people would just plant trees again.

The Gulf stream transports heat up north, as most are well aware.

But even more heat is transported by the atmospheric jet stream that runs continuously around the earth, dwarfing the importance of the Gulf stream.

The mechanism is simple: The jet stream is diverted upwards by the Rocky Mountains, and the coriolis effect forces it to also divert southwards. Then as it comes down it is diverted back northwards, and this trajectory continues all across the Atlantic ocean, and thus equatorial heat is transported towards Scandinavia.

The Gulf Stream may be shutting down, but this atmospheric heat transfer effect will remain true for as long as the Rocky Mountains remain in place, so alarm over the Gulf Stream is exaggerated.
