It was awesome for 4 years, after they got out the stink of Kenyan ass, fried chicken, and weed out of the curtains.

Now it smells like Ben Gay, wet Depends, baby shampoo, and Chinese property.

In my step dads 1800 house. They left me for a night out on on the town when I was a kid. I was never creeped out about the place, it was just old.

So here I am as a 10 year old retard watching teevee alone and all of the cabinets in the kitchen opened up and slammed shut. There was no weather event but my scared tiny butt got the fuck out. I was in the street screaming until neighbors found me. I still don't believe in ghosts at my old ass age but that shit was pure evil whatever it was.

long, desolate canyons in the Mojave Desert, flanked by empty hills on either side. There are a bunch of them, some formerly inhabited by old-time prospectors. Take your pick.

impossible to know if you're alone or being watched.

Saline Valley west of Death Valley was like that until at least 2000- several of Chuck Mansons apostles moved out there and set up house keeping in some of the side draws. If you're poking around out there and see a 'keep out' sign in one of them that doesn't look 100 years old you're taking a real risk by proceeding. The peculiar thing about the place was that if you spent any time down at the hot springs on the valley floor you'd meet the same people that would shoot and bury you in those draws and have no problems with them at all.

My bedroom door will move if the temperature changes enough. I notice it in the summer. I also have an Army ammo case that makes a popping sound sometimes because of temperature.

I lived in central Mexico for 2 years, a city call Morelia with a rich colonial history dating back to the 1400's when the Spaniards ruled Mexico.

lots of blood has been shed there, anyway during the day everything seems normal as can be, but once the sun goes down and its dark its starts to feel gloomy and creepy almost as if all the sprits come out.

I was not actually a retard at 10. This was all of the cabinet doors in the kitchen opening up and slamming shut. Whatever was in there wanted me out of the house and I complied.

Sick shit went on there. You can feel it.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80044298

You bet it did! Asheville is one of three Illuminati “capitals” in the U.S., along with Austin, Texas and one other city in the far west, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

Here’s an interesting article regarding alleged goings-on Asheville and the surrounding area, although a degree of skepticism is advised:

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
1980, the Columbarium in Highgate cemetery North London. It was derelict and dangerous. It was built below ground level with flights of stone steps taking you down, it was circular with large tomb doors lined up either side of you as you walk the circle, unable to see what might be around the bend.
The whole place was spookily quiet, considering it was in the middle of a huge city. Very dangerous too, you could easily fall through the roof of some of those dilapidated vaults while walking around at ground level. You might never get out.
Gave me the heeby jeebies for sure.

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
Foreclosed houses

I go in and take pics for appraisals

You can tell a lit of them didn’t know it was coming and left in a hurry

It’s scary

Food on the table and dishes in the sink ... toys and baby items not taken

Knock at the Door

They grabbed what they could in a little time

Shelves of canned goods left

Laptops and video games still out in living room

Newspapers from several YEARS AGO - had one in 2013 I went in and papers and mail were all from 2008 ... mold in bedroom from roof leak...

One had a foot of water in the basement

Clothes in the closets

Lawnmower and tools in the shed or garage

They just LEFT

And I wonder about the families ... put out after unemployment ate up their life like a ravenous wolf back in that crash

The sentiments still linger of hurry and fear

I pray for them and their babies that they are safe and happy now.

Lots of saleable stuff - they didn’t even get to have a garage sale and get some cash together.

Food clothes tv’s appliances furniture disgusting with mice and spiders and sometimes mold

It’s heartbreaking
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19876247

I also did a lot of work for realtors and banks from 98 thru the real estate boom..........the most interesting places were the time capsules......my favorite was a bank that was closed in the 70's ...it was built in the grand tradition of banks...... massive circular vault door was the centerpiece of the lobby...marble and granite space with soaring ceiling as a temple to wealth....lol.....I went thru the old offices with dark wood paneling, frosted glass, and gold leafed lettering on the doors....found calendars, newspapers, and other stuff from the 70's.....looks like they just closed in the middle of a work day.....

The skylight to the huge lobby has long been broken and ivy covered parts of the wall ......it was like a dystopian movie set.....pigeons flew around.....the best part was the lower level where the safe deposit boxes use to be......it was flooded to the top of the stairs......the water was surprisingly clear because the sediment has settled to the floor.....I went back a few days later with scuba gear to check out the lower level......I was worried about getting entangled, but once I was down there, it was not a problem......the space was mostly cleared , it was surreal gliding down the aisles of safe deposit boxes.....I expected to see fish....lol....I moved slow as not to disturb the sediment......the funny part was the people watching me leave the bank going to my car with wetsuit and scuba gear.....lol....the bank was in the middle of the 'hood.....

I'm planning to write a book about my experience being an entry tech and servicing evictions/foreclosure back in the day....

My mom used to take me shopping when I was a young kid at one of the oldest outlet malls in the country. It used to be a machine gun factory and Utica was known as a mafia town.

It later became abandoned and recently burned down.

This is the mall before the fire. Watch the video and realize there was a room there that parents would drop off their kids in when they shopped. It had old toys probably from the 60's and 70's in it. I used to play in that room.

The street behind my house growing up and it was in a very nice upper middle class neighborhod.

This is some of what I was aware of..

Several dogs murdered

Several child abuse situtaions.

A very nice lady dying of cancer.

A suicide.

A teen that I knew that was abandond by his mother and lived alone with Dad and stuggled with drugs.

Very promiscuous young teen who really did not have friends but young men who used her.

One home the father was a psychiatrist yet his sons were VERY troubled.

Each house had something difficult to deal with just a bad vibe street.

 Quoting: Hot Dog Harry

Here is someone who remembers the kids' playroom better than me:

"This was never more evident than in the dungeon-like playroom of one of its children’s clothing stores, where harried mothers could dump their kids and be granted a merciful respite from whining and complaining long enough to paw through tiny pairs of overalls, or whatever else they were looking for that day. What to me was an endless parade of irregular shoes, purses and cookware was apparently a draw for busloads of shoppers who came in from all over the state.

I distinctly remember a bin of grimy toys that sat in one corner of the playroom, resting sadly beneath a black-and-white TV on a high shelf that barely got reception. The dimly-lit cave’s one saving grace was a set of large, interconnecting plastic building blocks; forming a perfect cube in which to hide from strange children was oddly comforting."

Las Vegas. Last time we drove by it, never even stopped, Reno either. It felt like a giant insect hive humming to me. And I like Nevada, used to like Reno and Las Vegas, but it's worse now than when the mob ran it. Alien insect infestation probably
