Check him out at about 1:30 in. Somehow he knows how to pose for selfies and instinctively knows where that man is standing in order to grab his arm. Super weird. I tend to suspect, just from listening to a lot of different music, that he wanted to take after some of the blind black jazz and folk musicians, of which there are many. Many have “blind” in their names. It was so common that it became an aesthetic. I think he knew it would help his career, just like it did Ray Charles. Leadbelly. Blind Willie Mctell. Blind Willie Johnson. Sammy Davis Jr. was half blind. There are just too many coincidences with Stevie for us to disregard the rumors. I wonder what his wives or girlfriends have to say.
