Yeah, we had to wait for a specific part that we wanted for an R&D project and it was not available for months. Only recently it became available from Mouser and some other smaller companies with Digikey having no stock for it. On the other hand I wouldn't trust some Chinese component companies, even big ones since they do some times sell counterfeit products. For example I bought about 100 RS-485 transceiver ICs for a project, supposedly a TI one but they were either counterfeit or a bad batch since one in three would have short circuit in the Tx (A and B) outputs that would cause problems to the bus, eventually damaging the working drivers.
