I totally agree, and they've already been testing this scenario.
I live in a relatively small town (30-40,000 people) and a year back or so our Internet service went dark. Come to find out, a main cable had been cut. Problem is, said cable was buried 10 feet deep and required a backhoe to dig it up. It wasn't anywhere near development or new construction.. Someone did it intentionally
Quoting: Maximus Tardicus OP doesn't give a location, but this scenario is more likely due to the ground shifting. A 4.m EQ can break pipes; water, gas and sewer. The damage done to infrastructure is notable.
The Pacific Northwest is being hit with 4000 tremors in the last couple of days. This ground action turns wetlands into quicksand. Roads and train tracks buckle. Avalanche hazards increase.
They say the big one will hit during the slow slip from all the the tremors on Cascadia.

Inventory supplies, phase out of the stuff that hasn't worked out and double up on the things that you use and the kids borrow.
Pest control. Flies, mosquitoes, rats whatever can destroy your supplies. I advise a good cat and Flea control, but what ever works.
