If you are broke you will work for whatever pay you get. It might be blowjobs in an alley if you don't have any savvy in any area of expertise in demand. One thing I would ask is how many people here started working at 10-11 years of age? I did, I needed to because arcade games cost a quarter. Now they are an at home diversion from reality. That just sounds like some Paki store owner raised prices and blamed it on the minimum wage increase. Lol Then why don't we raise the rate to $50 per hour? 100? What we currently have is a faux democratic corporate socialist economy. they don't teach you Austrian economics anymore in the USA educational working systems The first true wave of Austrian economics as it is known today came from Vienna in the Austrian Empire during the mid-19th century. Several notable economists from the Austria-Hungary region of Europe were responsible for the development of what has become known as Austrian economics. Those individuals included Carl Menger, Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, Ludwig von Mises, and Friedrich Hayek. Social cooperation, however, can be based only on the foundation of private ownership of the means of production… The assertion that there is irrational action is always rooted in an evaluation of a scale of values different from our own. This issue is such stupidity. Minimum wage was not ever SUPPOSED to be a living wage. No one was supposed to have to support themselves or a family with it. Minimum wage was the first step on the ladder of work. It was for the most basic, menial, tasks. Tasks that do not require much thought, but exist to prove a person's reliability, honesty, innovativeness and dependability. Do you know that, if you use the "Inflation Calculator" the minimum wage in the year 1964 was $2.10 per hour, and that in order to have the exact same spending power in today's money, it would have to be 17.72 per hour? I point this out to show the utter stupidity of people who are pushing the "$15 minimum wage." They are so utterly stupid, so out of touch with actual reality, they don't even realize that what they're asking for isn't actually enough! This is WHY people get minimum wage; they're dumb. And the proof that they remain dumb is that they are asking for a new minimum which will not reflect actual inflation value of money. Congratulations on demonstrating to the entire GLP that YOU are not even smart enough to ask for the most basic amount to keep up with inflation. Watchman2020 |

Old people will no longer be able to eat at restaurants or afford basic things they used to. And all those min-wage workers will still exist on the brink of poverty and many will lose their jobs as businesses have to cut jobs and force fewer workers to do more work. |
