If you double minimum wage they will just charge double to consumers to make up for it.<< Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65942580 It's not that simple. They can raise prices. They can't make people pay it. Oh, but it IS that simple. You can't make someone pay for a luxury item, but everyone has to eat. Here's an example to clarify reality for you. It used to be that a gallon of milk was like five bucks, and a litre of fancy coffee drink was nine. So people don't buy the luxury, just basic milk. Today? Milk is over right dollars a gallon, the fancy drink is only seven fifty. Now, you HAVE to buy the staple items so they price them high, and drop the price on non-essential items. People go holy hell, milk has gotten expensive! But hey, at least my fancy coffees are still affordable. See how that works? You continue to lose, they continue to win. The answer has never been higher wages, but it seems that most choose to ignore that. ad ignorantiam - The assumption of a conclusion or fact based primarily on lack of evidence to the contrary. Usually best described by, “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” |

A reasonable Rational person would pay it to the Workers. . You probably don't notice that both those options are offered at the point of a gun. get rid of your fucking government force, all they way up and down. Then you'll get efficient allocation of things. |

People either buy the first thing and not the second, or buy the second and not the first. I stand by the original comment. If you pay more for the milk, you CAN'T buy the coffee. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71220182 United States 02/28/2021 07:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This doesn't redistribute wealth. This gives the common worker a living base to operate correctly on. Quoting: Beyond Pipe dreams. Reality is EVERYTHING will cost more! By more I mean a lot more. In Seattle where min is $12 a bottle of Fiji water costs $8 to $10. In Nashville min is $7.25 and that same exact product is $2. This is an actual example of the difference min wage makes. That just sounds like some Paki store owner raised prices and blamed it on the minimum wage increase. Lol Then why don't we raise the rate to $50 per hour? 100? |

Difference is: when you get paid, it's a whole lot more. walla. . |
