Usually that’s not enough to scare a judge. Judges deal with death threats all the time, especially any that does criminal justice. People get pissed about their sentences/their relatives sentences and threaten the judge or even attempt to kill them. Or kill their families. This is not scary to a real judge.

A real judge decides WHAT IS RIGHT AND LEGAL. Not whether it freaks people out. If that's your criteria, you can't be a judge. They should all resign immediately. I think they should be impeached frankly, as soon as the Repubs regain control, but I'm not holding my breath. There is no excuse for the SCOTUS inaction - that's like allowing Dred Scott to remain a slave because you're afraid of the war that was INEVITABLE ANYWAY. ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING.

I don't think they were scared at all. I think they were bad picks from Day 1, they are products of the System, and you cannot expect products of the System to dismantle the System, that's why you have to hire people from the OUTSIDE. Trump wants to manage or control the System, not change it. That's reflected in so many of his personnel picks including these 3 truly dreadful and utterly predictable SCOTUS picks. They went along with what the System had decided, which is that Biden "won". Ironically, Trump himself is too disruptive of the System so that's why they wanted to get rid of him. Even though he's not a real threat to them, he makes them profoundly uncomfortable because he's not really one of them. They tried to assimilate him and that didn't work so their next solution was to excrete him, which is what they did with the Steal.

When I get a report from someone who works for me (he worked for us as President) I want to know what's new. Well, nothing. OK I know these complaints, what are we doing about it? What are we doing about it that will have some fucking bite to it.

Or, maybe they each got a nice pile of Bitcoins. And that strategy will also be available in all future elections and for future cases, as far as I can tell.

That would have been the cleanest solution and overall cheapest. Just buy those moderately well to do SCOTUS justices with, say, $1 billion apiece, maybe a lot less would have done the trick.

(They may not want to pack SCOTUS if that makes the price to buy a vote go up.)
