Rooster kills man during illegal cockfight

Sad for the roosters but it's not like they could place aggressive roosters trained to kill with anybody wanting to feel good about adopting one.

The rooster, with a knife tied to its leg, fluttered in panic and slashed its owner, 45-year-old Thangulla Satish, in his groin last week, police inspector B Jeevan said on Sunday.

“Satish was hit by the rooster’s knife in his groin and started bleeding heavily,” Inspector Jeevan said, adding the man died on the way to hospital.

The Feds raided a cock-fighting event around here about a decade ago. The spectators got off fairly easy, but they charged about 30 owners with cruelty to animals, and arrested them. Then the Feds proceeded to immediately kill all the roosters at the event.

Was the cock then spared the cockfight and rehoused in an animal sanctuary, given a trophy prize, or made into chicken soup?
