Ever heard loud aircraft engine noise but no planes?
Just ran across this while searching "loud booms". Apparently, this has been heard, around the world, for years. I have heard similar but not so loud and my husband says it's the jets warming up at the airport (about five miles away), which I just accepted and may be the case. Now I'm curious if people here have heard anything like this.

Old video but many more recent accounts at Earthfiles:

In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

Re: Ever heard loud aircraft engine noise but no planes?
You know that's really weird.

Where I live there is a small airport which has a handful of daily flights.

No planes really fly direct to other destinations over my city.

Planes taking off from local airport are still quite low when passing over my property, easily visible.

But the last couple of months I have noticed that I kep hearing a noise like a plane was passing overhead, but could never see it.

It seemed that it was so high it was out of sight, but that was a bit absurd.

Shorter duration than the video, but sounds very much like it.

Whats weird is this is new, this has never happened before.

Re: Ever heard loud aircraft engine noise but no planes?
My family heard this a couple of years back. We lived in rural Virginia at the time.

One day we hear this plane going overhead that took forever to pass. It got our attention but we didn’t go outside. It was at least five minutes of engine sound over our neighborhood. We lived near a military base & thought maybe it had something to do with that.

A couple of weeks later, at a family gathering, my mother-in-law asked if anyone else had heard the super loud, super long plane sound in the sky a few weeks back. Really strange.

Forgot to say in my post I am not in USA, so I doubt there is any secret military testing in my area.

I do think many of the UFO reports can be secret military tests**, especially in US.

Widespread odd sounds like this, I am not so sure.

I mean lights/objects etc, I doubt they have cloaking devices.

The comments at the YT link are good and coming over years, from all over. Either on there or at the link is someone had headphones on, with loud volume, when he heard the aircraft engine noise over that!

I wonder if this is related to the bizarre trumpet/metallic scraping sounds and the loud booms.

If that happened with a jet flying overhead, would the sound remain as though the plane was just circling? That's what people describe. The sounds remains loud and constant. One person did describe it starting and stopping, abruptly.

Make sure to read the YT comments and the Earthfiles link. You may see some from where you live.

This makes sense, but then this would be normal, as in we heard it all our lives.

What is odd is that this is new.

I guess weather patterns are also shifting so it could be. There is so little air traffic for me though, I'd find it very odd if this was the case.

YES! I have been heading this shit in iowa for a little while now.. I always look up in the sky when I hear things and last night I couldn't see anything. I can normally see planes way up high but a faint sound. This damn sound last night could be heard inside of the house. I was like what the ever living fuck is that thing..crazy shit indeed

it's called an anti-glider. a glider has wings but no engine. the anti-glider has an engine but now wings. it uses vector thrust modules to direct flight.

There was a large underground gas pipeline about a half mile from our house. I heard a very loud jet engine sound that went on for about half an hour, drove towards the sound and they had an above ground pipe burning off gas----roughly a 20 inch pipe opening shooting a flame out 2 feet.

Sound was incredibly loud and exactly like a jet engine.

I can see where that would sound like a jet engine but that's surely not what's going on in all of these cases, including the video in the op.
