It's funny that in Germany you can get Tintin in the Congo but not Tintin in the Land of the Soviets

That’s peculiar.
Wonder what is the land of the soviets they don’t want people to read?

lol

I also read recently that a noteworthy publisher now does not advertise books written prior to 1945, even if written by Anti-Nazis.

Re: I guess after banning Dr. Seuss, Tintin will be next.
I love Tin Tin.
I didn't know who he was until I was an adult.

When my mother was dying, it was Chinese new year.

She was in intensive care in a drug induced coma.
The hospital, the one where I had done all my medical training, had literally murdered her with negligence and callous disregard.

I went to the hospital every day 2x.
I watched her slowly deteriorate with endless abuses to her body.
Despite my medical background, the doctors in charge ignored my concerns and requests.

My Uncle had asked me to not stay all day on the room with her .
I sat watching the machines.
The EKG, O2 sat, BP, Peep.
When you can read them, if they go beyond normal, you get a little weird.
Then they go back to normal. Then abnormal.
It goes on and on.

My uncle didn't think it was good for my mental health to be there for hours.

So, when I went, I'd sit and talk to her quietly,
.
I was almost always alone. I'd occasionally stifle a tear.

So day in day out, 2, 3 times a day, 3, 4 hours at a time, I'd go sit with her. Watching the machines.

One of the nurses was Chinese. It was the Chinese new year of the dog.

I had a key chain with many things on it. Besides keys that is.

All my friends and family would give me something to hang on my key chain. Charms and talisman.

Sometimes, I'd leave her room and go to get a coffee or something.
I'd leave my keys on the little table in her room. I didn't think the nurses puttering in and out of my moms room would take my stuff ..

One day, after my mom has passed away, I was fumbling with my keys, and I noticed something on my Keychain.
Something I had not put there.

I looked closely, and it was a charm of a white dog. I didn't recognize him.
I showed it to a few of my friends, and one said,
"That's Tin Tin.".

I had to look it all up.

It took me a bit to put it all together, but... I'm pretty sure the Chinese nurse in the ICU, put it on my key chain one night, when I had left the room.
It was the week of Chinese new year, year of the dog.
She did it as a blessing, I guess hoping it would help mom, and me, if mom didn't make it.

You never forget stuff like that.

Even though my mom didn't make it, and the hospital killed her, Tin Tin will always remind me that there are kind people out there.

This is why the racism being stoked in this country by the left, disgusts me to my core.
No bromo dude...
