I enjoy the question: If a camera followed you every moment of every day for a week (and remember, a camera cannot pick up on your thoughts or intentions) would you appear to be the stellar human being you believe yourself to be? In that - your shadow self has an opportunity to wink at the crowd and take a bow. So to speak. Observation changes the outcome. Where people no longer believe they are a good person they stop functioning. The point was always to break the will.  really? being self aware means that you know you can never be a completely good person you can do your best, you can try hard, that's what counts that's what matters most people have good intensions but what is a "good" person? If you truly are doing good, the question of being able to ever be a completely good person or not, becomes a waste of an opportunity Just a small feather of truth that whizzes by me all the time and measures me justly and evenly Have a grand old day everyone! |

I would promote you talking to a psychologist better then a therapist or psychiatrist(I know you said therapist just stating for any who may read and have similar feelings.) They are great for expansion of mind, a psychologist prime function is not to assess your health(necessarily if so it be voluntary I feel at least) but to help you explore your mind and your inner self I've had a great numerous conversations with psychologists on the theory of suicide and every single time they have conceded I'm not wrong but to the untrained mind thoughts I hold could be dangerous if relayed to others. So I generally keep my peace on certain subject matter as to advert catastrophe Yeah I've talked to a billion psychologists, it's nice when people listen and they do have interventions which are beneficial. Mental health treatment does its best and sometimes succeeds, but every person has a limitation on their empathy sooner or later. The most important parts of my life are already outside of the zones where people choose to consciously exist. I choose to explore weird pioneers so I won't complain when nobody relates to the aliens. I love the field of psychology because it is vast and fascinating, but its limitations are even more offensive than ordinary dogmatic science. Bingo- hard to tell if you mean others (the head-shrinker's) empathy or your own? WHY do you think there is a limitation? This is an assumption you have incorporated into your world view. The limitation resides in the fear of 'loss of self' (ego)... which is the working definition of 'enlightenment' I might add. When you direct your energies to the service of others (not merely people, but all sentient beings) whenever possible, it is (you) who reaps the rewards... only catch is, this process can't be engaged in with the intent of seeking reward/benefit (for it's maximum result to become manifest)- there is no fooling the universe- you have to truly be sincere (which is a whole 'nuther philosophical can o' worms). The realization of the concept of 'Interdependent Origination' leads to the logical conclusion that there is nothing which stands 'alone' and no-thing outside of oneself... which then becomes the motivation/impetus to continually and constantly pursue altruistic and compassionate endeavors at every possible turn- (if you see a worm struggling on the sidewalk in the sun, pick it up and move it to a location that you would want to be at if you were a worm, etc.). Just don't lose yer'self' before you are truly ready to become extinct (likely not in this lifetime, so it takes the pressure off... no worries!) - or you'll go nuts. |

You probably don't need the work if you exist, but our actual discussions might be mutually rewarding or at least entertaining. There was once a guy here that almost fit the profile, maybe did, idk, but he was probably cannabilized by his shady employers. Well, talking to him was very interesting because he had a novel and fundemental understanding of the subject that wasn't rehearsed or memorized. I'm up to my asshole in raw information about psychology, it's a lot more than a sneeze which I've accumulated over the years. But I want to have an honest conversation with someone who can show me a true rendition of my shadow selves or shadow heart...  I honestly want to talk to someone that can run circles around the amount that I know, if not in the quantitative sense, in the qualitative. Which is a big ask because none of the prolific roster of experts I've spoken to has offered very much in the way of novel observations. I've had extensive and for the most part uninspiring discussions with a lot of reputable degree holding experts incapable of telling me something original. they were all smart and great in their own ways but I'm seeking a different kind of conversation. This is a weird place to ask, but it would be way weirder asking anywhere else, so my offer stands Duality helps enlighten. As you move up you begin to realize it is all about energy. Rise above biology into consciousness. I am a work in progress. Newbie. All phenomenal manifestations can be reduced to 'duality' or a binary process (yes, just like computer code)- right down to the microbiological processes such as proton pumps being triggered to open or close or synaptic neurotransmission of various axial processes - 'either or'... The aggregate outcome of a complex, countless multitude of these events appears to be something other than this, yet just like dark and light, man and woman, right and wrong, Yin and Yang etc., etc... ALL observable events are founded upon this rudimentary concept/process- now, is this to say that is all there is? ...hardly. But is all we can discuss using the linear casual mechanisms such as language, logic and time/space. |
