You miss the premise of the thread. Taste and preferences with food is so subjective that there is no "best." Impossible with such a subjective topic. Same for wine or beer.

yes, i do understand, but ask a food scientist about flavinoids and you will find a correlation, possibly due to this video which probably is a visual on fibonacci...

all i know, is dont put black currants with scrambled eggs, dont sear off undercooked roast lamb on the grill as ya slice it on the first day of ur job, and if ya drop a steak in the rib ranch in the public grill, ya pretend to look down in the oven with yer tongs surreptitiously aligned with your calf and just "flick" the damn steak up on.....and if a hot euro chick comes up at a hop congress as you are shutting down the grill, cook her a fucking steak...
first day n another job, i did a busload of chicken maryland, they looked GREAT...problem was, i didnt cook the chook....i had to make a 5 minute deep fried curried sausage n pea spooge to feed em...
idiot
is why i got the flaming sword
i fuck evry thing up'

ya thought old joe was a doofus.

but yes, flavinoids and palate receptors ftw.

blackcurrant bud oil as one example, mint etc, all fall within an aromatic range.

Um... no. When you eat good food, you know it. But cooking properly is a lot of work, not just reductions and sauces, (Classical French cookery) that can be done relatively quickly, but dishes with many components.
It took me almost 3 hours to cook dinner today- It is both a science and an art and may be a bit subjective in terms of taste (Indian curry's vs Italian) but I am the TOP CHEF in my family- hence Holidays are at my house and not my half-retarded cousin Karen's.

LOL - Buddy, The french practically invented the art. Even myself as an Italian incorporate many techniques invented by the french masters. Breads, Souffles, Sauces and Patisserie are the base of modern civilization and were imported into Britain in the middle ages.

Re: No such thing as a "Top chef." Food taste and preferences are very subjective.
They attend fancy cooking schools and brag about culinary tastes, then offer ribs and burgers in 5 star resturants now. All hype.
I just gained 20lbs during covid and I am pissed off, I control my wieght by eating out because other peoples food is crap compared to my cooking.

Here's my favorite breakfast I can't have anymore since I'm on a diet.
Bacon slices, well cooked. One scrambled egg, one 1/2 toasted english muffin with pat of butter, 1 small sauteed avacado and red onion.

No expensive breakfast anywhere equals that breakfast. A pancake or a slice of french toast on the side with fruit would be nice. Coffee, juice.
To many calories unfortunately. Now I pay and have to starve for months.

I know a guy who won that Chef show whatever it is. His cooking sucks.
