Anonymous Coward User ID: 79413668 United States 03/06/2021 10:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | f22 was great, f35 seems not to have worked out well what makes su57 better than an f22 ? su57 stealth is poor except possibly from the front, when it would be on the attack A major problem with the F-22 is its incredibly intensive service requirements and availability. Could you battle prep an F-22 for a week to have it successfully dogfight a SU-57 or Su-30/35 in a controlled environemnt? Let's give it the benefit of the doubt and say yes despite the fact that French Rafales have shown they can defeat an F-22. The problem is could you fight any sort of war of a long term period against a bunch of SU-57's and Su-27/30/35's with F-22's? not a chance. You can run those Russian planes for months with fairly little maintenance. Could you then rely on a more reliable American fighter like an F-16 or F-15 to take up the slack? No, they are too far behind. So the USA has put itself in a bind. The reliable stuff isn't good enough and the fancy stuff isn't war-worthy. |
