Like all periods of music, be it Baroque or Blues, it had its time, retains its huge fans but nonetheless, pop's period was from the early 50's to about 2000. |

You'll never coming out alive!!!" Well I had a fantastic time, Eric B & Rakim when they were at their very best, goosebumps, and so many other acts.... One of the most amazing concerts was The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphopricy in Den Haag, Holland... Must've been '92 maybe.... Mid concert they blew up the speakers and it took a long time before new ones were brought in. Didn't matter, they just played an amazing acoustic jazz set, Michael Franti reading poetry, not many acts that can or could do something like that.... I got out of hip hop... I don't know, maybe some 12 years ago, it fitted my life style back in the late 80's and the 90's but around 12 years ago I started really hating what it had become, a coca cola commercial, and I know, deep in the underground there's still great stuff coming out, I know, but I got deep into jazz, Indonesian music etc. and every now and then I get in a mood and play a lot of that old school stuff again.... Oh and btw... About the history of hip hop, they really get into it here :) Last Edited by Madrotter on 03/07/2021 12:23 PM |

User ID: 79499382 Indonesia 03/08/2021 12:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First time Cypress Hill came to Holland, what an insane show! Sen Dog stage dived right on top of me, man that guy was big, and he lost his shoe while doing that, so they stopped the show, said they wouldn't continue unless the shoe would come back and it went like GIVE US THE SHOE!!! Audience: FUCK THE SHOE!!! Went on like that for a while, then somebody found the shoe, threw it on stage and they rocked the house again. Don't know how it happened but it was so wild, I somehow lost my t-shirt, stepping out of the place in the midst of winter in Amsterdam and still having to go back home to Rotterdam.... Then, years later, I saw Immortal Technique, great show and he stage dived. Right on top of me. He isn't as big as Sen Dog was but big enough, so when I saw Non Phixion with Ill Bill who's at least 300 pounds I was like, no way I'm going to the front :) That was a pretty shitty show btw.... Man.... Loads of great shows way back.... Kool Keith a few times, Das Efx, Tim Dog, Pharcyde, Slum Village, The Goats, Black Moon with Smiff N Wessun, Heltah Skeltah and Sean Price, Son of Bazerk, The Afro's, saw The Fugees a long time before they blew up and they were great and saw them again later when they were huge with Nas, Gang Starr twice, Jeru, Company Flow, Masta Ace with Punch & Words, Paris, Beatie Boys, Public Enemy twice one time with Antraxx, Main Source, Dj Qbert, loads and loads of Dutch acts... Probably forgetting lots of acts... :) Yeah, Lords of the Underground :) EPMD, Young Black Teenagers, Inteligent Hoodlum.... Here's some great old school Dutch hip hop....
